Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
Rich in Washington:

I will be cooking shortly, but must finish my data/playlist homework from last night first.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
Webhamster Henry:

I heard your Mixcloud too, Spacegirl! Georgy is a good promoter!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm
Rich in Washington:

Agent Spacegirl: I second what Jan said. That's some fine selectin' and tune-slingin'!
  1:13pm
Agent Spacegirl:

Hey Thanks!!! It was so much easier doing live radio now I have get rid of sibilance and spit sounds..........I'll probably put the show #2 up next week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm

I put a sock over my mic for added sibilance busting. It was one of my wife's stray socks. Where do OTHER socks GO?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Rich in Washington:

Donovan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Huge hugs, my unicorn sister! :-) xx

Odd socks go through into a parallel universe where they turn into wire coat hangers. And vice versa with our universe ;-)
  1:17pm
Agent Spacegirl:

ADORE THE SOCK TRICK. Maybe I'll just put it in my mouth next time. lolololololo I have to go before I get fired.

Mr Fab:

Hey all! It really sounded like Donovon was singing “the retard goes right to the sun.” And i thought these singer-songwriter types were supposed to be so sensitive!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

That's exactly what I thought!!!! LOL!!!
I can't unhear it now either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

He's singing "the retired writer" .. but I did a double take the first time I heard it. It's his Scottish accent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Also - hello, Mr F! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm
Rich in Washington:

ah. done with the tedious data entry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Rich - have a bit of a bop to The Kinks. Proper jaunty :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm
Rich in Washington:

This is a good one to bop to!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

You can do a little head shimmy too :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

This song does NOT sound like 1970. That sax just jolts it forward into the next decade.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm
Rich in Washington:

Alright. I'm gonna go crank this in the kitchen and cook myself up some grub!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Food Bop!!! I approve :-)
  1:37pm
Martinibomb:

Forgot about F&F this morning! And was geeking with MusicBee library/player app putting the sheena's stream in and who's voice do I hear? Hah Hello everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello, MB! I am the voice in your head ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Bit of Bee Gees for Mr fab :-)
Avatar 1:44pm
Mr Fab:

Brilliant use of kettledrum on that Idle Race song (bah-ROOOM!)
  1:48pm
Martinibomb:

Fab/GG any advice on digital music library organization? Software etc.. best practices
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
Guido from Cologne:

Hello from the same latitude!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I stick to standard Windows - no software. I found all the software too much of a nonsense. to be honest.
As far as organisation ... I lean towards different shows. So for Modernists I have the folders set up for each label, and the albums in folders inside.
Flange is artists in alphabetical order, compilations under genre.
And so on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hey Guido!! Welcome! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Windows Explorer. That's what I meant to say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I also use the term "organisation" VERY loosely. ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

So, I can either find The Incredible String Band under I or Acid Folk Comps. :-)
99.9% of the time. The other .1% is me swearing and shouting "Where the hell is that song I need???" ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm
Webhamster Henry:

Hi Guido - thanks for your audio donations to the station!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Aha! You're that Guido!! Hello! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Guido! @Mb I'm still in the proces of deciding how to organize exactly, but I'm copying ripping dutch pop music into subgenres for Frame Duggy Louder, because that is where the emphasis will be at. I also use windows explorer search function to search on themes in titles, etc...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

There you go. What Jan said :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I've always wondered if there's a deeper meaning to "meeting a man from the motor trade".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm
Guido from Cologne:

Always enjoy to provide some German sounds to my favourite station.
  2:02pm
Martinibomb:

Thank you GG & Jan! Helpful. I'm kind of digging this MusicBee one because I can nest playlists inside of playlists inside of playlists... So Medium Cool playlist with all the individual shows but when i click the top folder it's all one huge playlist which I think is cool.
  2:03pm
Martinibomb:

also the tagging feature is right ontop where you need it very very easy to get to and make changes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

From Dangerous Minds: dangerousminds.net...
  2:04pm
Martinibomb:

love that dangerous minds blog they always have great content
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm
Guido from Cologne:

Wasn't it that Joh wrote "Walrus" in order to mock the beatle-lyric-meaning-seekers?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Guido - yep, that's what I've always heard :-)
  2:07pm
Martinibomb:

what was the title of the film you were just talking about?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

LOL!
Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny, Girly.
Got there in the end ;-)
  2:09pm
Elizabeth:

I love Goodbye Gemini! Very strange! And I think the siblings talk to a stuffed animal cat throughout the movie! And I love Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny, and Girly- also- I think it was written as a play originally, but I could be wrong!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

They're both super weird, aren't they? :-)
Like the one with Paul Nicolas - the Jack and Jill one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

"What Became of Jack and Jill?" - another Vanessa Howard movie
  2:12pm
Elizabeth:

Yes! They are! I love them for their weirdness! I also group "Deep End" with those movies also-
  2:12pm
Martinibomb:

just checked the trailer that film looks great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Vanessa Howard was so underrated. Did I talk about her a couple of weeks ago? I did, didn't I?
Yes. The cinema show :-)
  2:14pm
Elizabeth:

Yes, you did talk about her! I tried to find a biography written about her- but no such luck! So sad that she left acting at such a young age. She was very talented!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

"Who Slew Auntie Roo?" - that's another good'un :-)
  2:16pm
Martinibomb:

oh yeah I've wanted to watch taht Who Slew for a long time thanks for the reminder.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I love Shelley Winters :-)
She was always a treat.
  2:18pm
Elizabeth:

Yes, she was very entertaining!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Just posted the link to the group :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm
Webhamster Henry:

This show needs a matching film playlist then!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

We were trying to sort out watching parties via Facebook - limited, unfortunately. But I found a site where you can watch stuff together and chat. Might have to revisit the idea of movie nights at Sheena's Jungle Room :-)
  2:36pm
Martinibomb:

I'm up for movie nights. Not sure how we can show what we want tho and not have to play what FB offers. What's the site you found?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm
Guido from Cologne:

I think the second album by UK's Kaleidoscope is marveluos.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Guido - they're great, aren't they? :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm
Guido from Cologne:

How young were they at the time?
15? 16?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

That's the thing, isn't it? All these bands were so young really. I think that's why the 60s energy was so incredible. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

And right back to where we came in with Marley Purt Drive - this time by the chaps who wrote it :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm
Guido from Cologne:

I'm still puzzled how bands handled live shows after having been so heavily over-produced (which is not to criticise the productions, just wondering)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Stick around after me for Otis and Friendly Persuasion :-)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm

The last track is a staggering ten minutes of tuneage. :-)
Hope everyone's enjoyed this week's show! I love hearing all your comments :-)

Back. Breakfast accomplished, but while washing up, BROKE the GODDAMN FRENCH PRESS!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm
Rich in Washington:

Pardon my French.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Guido - I imagine with the younger bands that either there was screaming girlies OR everyone was so out of their brains that no one really noticed?
Avatar 2:49pm
Otis Fodder:

Hello all, thanks Georgy for the music. xo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Rich - oh no!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello Otis! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm
Jan Turkenburg:

lovely show, GG!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm
Rich in Washington:

I know! A catastrophe! I am going to have to run down to town to get another. While I can make do with the cowboy coffee method, my sweetie cannot. ARGH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you, Jan :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

My old coffee machine and that was horrific for me. So I know how you feel.
  2:55pm
Martinibomb:

Almost over with already! Oh my. I did a painting, booked a trailer rental, and organized some audio with musicbee in that time woo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Am I aiding your productivity? I like that! :-) I like that you paint to my shows too. that makes me very happy :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm
Rich in Washington:

This is a lovely track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Rich - isn't it? I just had to play all ten minutes of it. It'd be a crime not to. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm
Guido from Cologne:

I was wondering i know the song, now i see i have the album by Sweet Thursday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm
Rich in Washington:

I really want one of those mad professor looking glass vacuum pots but having anything glass and delicate in our tile kitchen is a just a recipe for heartbreak.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm
Rich in Washington:

I've never heard of Sweet Thursday before. This show is a such a great glimpse into UK rock. Every week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

If anyone knows how to cold brew without it being a science project or costing a fortune, please tell me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you, lovely people :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm
