@Mayuko: I like Robert Ashley but the thing in the U.S. is this endless fascination with the malaise of suburbs. I am a first generation American so I never really understood that for a very long time. But so much of American art and culture is just OCD about the suburbs and the negativity surrounding it. Just look at most art out there and you can start to see that right away.

Also, a lot of great art from the 1960s to now is really focused on the decaying world of factories and farms in the U.S. I just got back into Wim Wenders and he’s endlessly fascinated with the decay of the modern world.

An app sounds like a cool idea. I only listen to a few shows live so for me the archive comes to the rescue. The other issue (for me) is knowing what's new out there on the streams and radio that would interest me. I wish there was a way to cross reference taste preferences or something. Or have better show descriptions. Oh god, I'm sounding like a typical Capricorn!
