A three-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

You are indeed sounding better than ever, Rich. Sheena's Jungle Room: Never have so many spent so much time, money, and trouble to get so many crappy thrift store records to sound so good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm
coelacanth∅:

there's a video of silver machine out there, a little longer and not a medley.
...i guess that wasn't the last word on the subject

Mr Fab:

The new Friday schedule coincides with my work hours: 8am to 5pm PST. Wonder if anyone has listened to the whole day, like me? I really like how it starts off with jason Elbogen's low-key atmospheric exotica and outsider folkie loners, then get increasingly crazy thru out the day. It's all leading up to wackadoodle Hawkwind and Residents covers.
  7:22pm
Martinibomb:

Sounds really good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm
Rich in Washington:

That video's a hoot.

Friday's are awesome! Whether I'm off work or working. Loving the new schedule.

Mr Fab:

daaaaamn, another cover of the great song from "War of the Gargantuas"! Devo did a great version. And, believe it or not, the latest Scooby Doo series did a Gargantuas-themed episode, complete with girl singing "The Words Get Stuck In My Throat"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm
Rich in Washington:

Hiya, Martinibomb! Hope I'm not missing anybody!

I was bummed that I missed Jason's re:debut show this morning. I'm glad you brought him back on the radio, Mr Fab!
Avatar 7:31pm
geezerette:

SJR is like an audio version of 50's era Mad Magazine.
What's not to love?
Avatar 7:32pm
Mr Fab:

'tis my pleasure, Mayuko! I don't know if I'd ever heard his old shows. Station Mgr Ken strongly suggested him to me, Ken's a big fan of Jason.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm

funny you should mention Mad Magazine...
Avatar 7:33pm

....or UNfunny.......
Avatar 7:33pm

Ah, geezerette, you make me so happy for saying that. Don't know how we can live up to that comparison...
Avatar 7:35pm
Mr Fab:

yeah, I was all set to subscribe to the new Mad, and they just announced they're quitting. So now how can I get that Alfred E Newman tiki mug the magazine was giving away with subscriptions? My bar needs (at least) one!

Well, someone is going to do a Mad Mag segment sooner or later.

Seems like I've noticed that the Jungle Room has clearer, louder audio quality than the other streams most of the time???
Avatar 7:49pm
Mr Fab:

Mogan David & His Winos! It's in the Stream, actually.
Avatar 7:52pm
Mr Fab:

Yes, CC, others have noticed that. I was pleasantly surprised when we went on-line. I was told everything gets squished down to 128 mp3. But i dunno, sounds better than that. (At least as good as some of this stuff CAN sound..)
