Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Cmurtha:

Is it Frank Zappa who says the line about a "good steady beat" so sardonically? It sounds so much like him, but I can't tell for sure
Avatar 12:26pm Hubig Pie:

And which biker flick is that "hassled by the man" from?
Avatar 12:26pm Carmichael:

The Wild Ones, I believe.
  12:27pm frenchee:

ooh, bad fillin? PICK ME! seriously, both Tamar and Mr. Sin were great.
  12:28pm frenchee:

no it's from EASY RIDER....I thought WILD ONES too, but just saw Peter Fonda uttering the very words....
Avatar 12:29pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

EZ Rider Half Century other day.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I thought about Frank Zappa, too, but it must be some random record executive.
Avatar 12:29pm Carmichael:

That's Peter Fonda speaking those lines? Whoa ...
Avatar 12:30pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The 'we wanna get high...w/out..the man!' - ?
I thot Wild Ones too...
  12:30pm SWIVS:

Aren’t the Realistics (NYC) playing that Mooney Suzuki show too?! They were great.
Avatar 12:30pm Joe B:

the wild ones not easy rider
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Free to get hassled: youtu.be...
  12:31pm frenchee:

@carmichael: just looked it up and it's YEAH, what Joe B. just said. Same outfit though, that's what fooled me.

Avatar 12:33pm Joe B:

Avatar 12:36pm Carmichael:

I actually saw that movie way back when. I remember Nancy Sinatra.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm paul b:

There is something about Mooney Suzuki that reminds me of Radio Birdman at turns
  12:38pm steveL:

Mooney Suzuki! Good Lord!
Avatar 12:39pm Hubig Pie:

There was a radio station in New Orleans that used that "free to ride" bit for a promo back in the '90s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm Rich in Washington:

@paul b: I've been listening for the last half hour but too busy to read the playlist, and thought the exact some thing.
  12:43pm Joey joe joe:

Mike Sin is big shoes to fill for sure
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm Rich in Washington:

I recommend the Birdman doc Descent Into The Maelstrom to those who haven't seen it.

Avatar 1:06pm Joe B:

wild angels
  1:07pm dano59:

Ok Joe did correct that. I get my bike sploitation flix mixed up
Avatar 1:08pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'Wild One' was Brando 1953:
What are you rebelling against?
Whadaya got??
Avatar 1:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Wild Angel surely 'referencing' the Brando - so we're set up for this...
  1:19pm Carnation:

Don't leave us alone in Asbury. We'll buy you a beer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Dominick:

Joe !
  1:21pm KP in DC:

Peter Fonda and Gram Parsons were in a movie that was a precursor to “Easy Rider.” It was called “The Trip” and Gram is in it only as a member of the International Submarine Band. Despite the name, ISB had a country rock sound that did not fit the flick so they dubbed it over with generic psychedelia
Avatar 1:24pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& of course - Peter knew what it was like to be dead - which Lennon didn't wanna hear on his 1st voluntary trip w/ the bYRdS...& as the obligatory late 60s acid scene in EZ Rider deals w/...
Avatar 1:27pm Hubig Pie:

Be sure to wave your white hankies at the Irma Thomas show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Spankyflop:

That Wild Angels sample is also on the first Mudhoney album too.
Avatar 1:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& various GarageRawk podcasts - who could resist...
Avatar 1:33pm Hubig Pie:

Peter Fonda was speaking for a whole generation , I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Spankyflop:

And printed on a great FMU t-shirt a while back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Spankyflop:

Only $8 in the swag store - wfmu.store...
Avatar 1:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

$8 ?!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Hoboken Jack:

Love that Reese
Avatar 1:41pm Hubig Pie:

What biker wears a size small t-shirt?
Avatar 1:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...bet drink me under the table anyroad...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:05pm James in ATL:

As a Cheap Trick fan I have to say WTF?
Avatar 2:07pm Carmichael:

I thought this was Rush.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Phillippe Bastille:

How was Solid Sound this year? I went to the first five festivals and they were great.
  2:37pm dano59:

I have yet to hear a bad song off Juliana's Weird. I missed out on the vinyl variants tho. And Jeff's Warm is still growing on me.
  2:38pm listener monica:

  2:42pm dano59:

Avatar 2:44pm Joe B:

I missed the first two. had a great time this year! Wand the feelies and minus 5 were my faves but it was all great
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Hoboken Jack:

The Algebra II release show at Asbury Park Brewery on Friday was so great, loaded with Three Chord Monte and Monty faves Joy Cleaner, Resounding No, and Long Neck. A hat wearing gentleman came up to me and asked if I'd seen Joe Belock because he'd first heard Resounding No on the show.
  2:50pm KP in DC:

Wow. Who is this
  2:51pm katharsis:

Enjoying the set. Thanks. I don’t always tune in at this time.
Avatar 2:51pm Joe B:

was bummed to miss it Jack. glad it was good
  2:53pm prudy:

Dano59: Not going to SS any more for lots of reasons...i've seen Wilco many many times, festivals are more and more of a physical push for me, the crowds, etc.
