Ha! I heard Church of Anthrax last night on D. Blumin's show and thought to myself, this is one of the few tracks that would be at home on both Daniel's and Marty's shows.

Oh never mind, they're Japanese. Discogs put their country of origin as Russia.

Avatar 10:38pm

A Paul Oakenfold mix is named a "Perfecto Mix". That Oakenfold, humble bloke.
Avatar 🥊 Swag For Life Member 10:41pm
Franco Twinkie:

Saw Shuggie with his Pa opening for Zappa.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm
coelacanth∅:

haha well i guess we could say it's egocentric to call his mix "perfecto"; or humble for him to not call it the "Paul Oakenfeld mix"!
(...or - "The Paul Oakenfeld Perfecto Remix"!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm
coelacanth∅:

and, it is pretty perfect!

(thanks for the clarification, by the way)
  10:45pm
Carmichael:

Wow, Franco. I saw Zappa 4 times, can’t remember if there were opening acts.
  10:45pm
Carmichael:

Which is by design, I guess.
Avatar 🥊 Swag For Life Member 10:52pm
Franco Twinkie:

Carmichael, well you know Frank was, how can I say this, 'discerning' about who he shared his stage with, but in LA there were so many weirdos he obviously had affection for.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm

  11:14pm

Old War is great!
Avatar 🥊 Swag For Life Member 11:15pm
Franco Twinkie:

To rock a truly OG look in your scrape, you must have a song title scripted in white with sparkles: 'Lovers Don't Care' 'Softly To Me' something like that, on the back windows.
Avatar 🥊 Swag For Life Member 11:21pm
Franco Twinkie:

This is the shit!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22pm
coelacanth∅:

hells yeah Carm! for whatever reason that group grabbed me very young. cisco kid; low rider; why can't we be friends...i went out to buy a record with my leaf-raking fortune and the only album they had that i could afford was "platinum jazz" so i got it. i was disappointed at first and soon it cracked open my world a little more and i loved it!
"city country city" is what i had on the mixtape i played in my new car.
  11:22pm
Carmichael:

The world is a ghetto.
  11:23pm
Carmichael:

This guitar lead was lifted outright from Born on the Bayou.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm
coelacanth∅:

yeah. that whole album.
- which of course is where city country city first appeared; but i didn't get that album 'till a few years later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm

not just the guitar!
Avatar 🥊 Swag For Life Member 11:24pm
