Favoriting September 7, 2019: Che Apalache: Latingrass From Buenos Aires

Listen to this show: Pop-up listen Pop-up player!

When fiddler Joe Troop moved to Buenos Aires he found no bluegrass or Appalachian bands in sight - so he started his own group, Che Apalache. The band's excellent new album Rearrange My Heart, produced by Bela Fleck, combines those U.S. traditions with Latin American styles. Plus - why not? - a song in Japanese.

Che Apalache's fall tour includes stops at Rockwood Music Hall on Monday September 9th and at WFMU, where they'll serenade us in at least three languages!

Che Apalache is touring the US through Mid-November; tour dates are at their website https://www.cheapalache.com/.

Check out their new album at https://cheapalache.bandcamp.com/album/rearrange-my-heart.

Massive thanks to our illustrious engineers Dave Satkowski and Rob Christiansen!
