	5:35pm Mr Fab: My brother, friends and I call this stuff "big sister music". For some reason it turned out we all had these fairly older hippie big sisters who used to always play this stuff. We all agree that Carole King's "tapestry" is the ur-text of big sister nusic.

I seemed to spend a lot of time dreaming of all the clothes I'd buy and stuff I'd get when I was old enough to be the hippie generation. Except of course it wasn't there any more when I got there! Didn't stop me, mind you ;-)

	♥ 5:40pm Rich in Washington: Kind of fixated on the production of this song. Have been appreciating Rundgren more and more over the years and the level of production on his songs. I used to not 'get' Rundgren and now I think I do.
	5:41pm geezerette: This music really sets the dial back to innocence. Good to know it's still in there.
	♥ 5:41pm DJ GeorgyGirl: I was obsessed with 70s AOR Rundgren ... and didn't realise/get into all The Nazz stuff until much later.

	♥ 5:44pm DJ GeorgyGirl: One of the songs that's guaranteed to make me completely freak out :-)
	♥ 5:45pm Rich in Washington: That aforementioned Rhino set became the core of this monstrous 70s playlist that my wife and I would have on in the background often. I augmented it with lots of other obscurish 70s radio staples. That Rhino set's weird, though. I think it's supposed to be derived from some criteria based on US Billboard charts, but many many huge stars are noticeable by their absence.

	5:48pm Mr Fab: Rich, it's difficult to put a really comprehensive compilation together because many of the big names priced themselves out of it. Hence, no Beatles in many 60s comps, no Sinatra and any Lounge /Vegas comps, etc.

	5:50pm geezerette: This is all bringing back a vanished L.A. to me. So very different.
	♥ 5:50pm Rich in Washington: yeah. Not Elton John, no Manilow, almost none of those big stars which were radio staples at the time. This is some way is a somewhat endearing aspect of those comps, but it's just weird, especially if someone wants to - as I was trying - to replicate a 70s radio station feel.

I augmented it with lots of other obscurish 70s radio staples. That Rhino set's weird, though. I think it's supposed to be derived from some criteria based on US Billboard charts, but many many huge stars are noticeable by their absence.
