	♥ 2:26pm Rich in Washington: We're fully in Fall mode here. It's pretty cool and the leaves are all turning. I think I'm gonna give the lawn their final mow for the season today.
	♥ 2:26pm Kat in Chicago: Leaves are still green here, but the temps dropped suddenly in the last few days. Our radiators came on briefly on Friday and I wish they'd come back on again.

	♥ 2:29pm Kat in Chicago: I am. Building is a hundred years or so old. Windows are pretty new so it's not as drafty as the some of the others I've lived in, but it's still kind of chilly.

	♥ 2:34pm Kat in Chicago: Nah, one is at the mercy of one's landlord in Chicago buildings such as these. The first two years I lived here it was actually overheated. Last year it started off super cold, but after repeated texts to the owner he finally got it properly adjusted.
	♥ 2:37pm Kat in Chicago: I didn't know Canadians had a Thanksgiving holiday at all! How is Halloween in Montreal, Otis? I find it boring in Chicago, honestly. I actually went to NYC that weekend last year. Bushwick on Halloween is pretty cute.
	2:38pm Linda Lee: glad to hear that. it's the same in nyc, generally. not many options aside of electric heaters to supplement.
	2:40pm Linda Lee: always had fun in nyc on hallowe'en, 70s - 90s. nightlife, parties, parade!
	♥ 2:40pm Kat in Chicago: Yeah I had one really bad landlord heating-wise when I lived in Manhattan in the 90s. And one place with electric baseboard heat which was mostly worthless.

	2:45pm Linda Lee: even under the best conditions baseboard heat isn't very efficient..
	2:46pm Linda Lee: people don't like living in the same building as the landlord, but you get proper heat if you do.
	2:46pm Otis Fodder: Old building here and baseboard heaters. Keep blankets and space heaters handy.

	♥ 2:49pm Kat in Chicago: I think I'm going to get off the couch and do some housey things while this is on. Perhaps the activity will warm me up.
	2:49pm Otis Fodder: Really worthless heat... quite often I throw plastic up over the windows and that helps. Thankfully the landlord put in new front windows 2 years back so no more drafts there... just drafts on the old wood cracks from floor to wall.

	2:53pm Linda Lee: here's a tip for window plastic: bubble wrap! that little layer of air really makes a difference. just wet the glass a little & static keeps it up.

	3:15pm Linda Lee: last bubble wrap tip: i found it really made a difference last winter. i have single pane windows! just spray a little water directly on the glass & press the plastic on lightly. it should hold for the season, unless the air goes super dry.
	3:15pm Linda Lee: then you just spray a little more.
	♥ 3:16pm Kat in Chicago: oh, spraying water would be soooo much more easy than struggling with duct tape.
	3:16pm Archivist Vivian: I work at a haunted asylum. I scare people. this year my 'character' is me singing atonally or just singing in general, odd songs.
	3:16pm Linda Lee: the water lets us use the plastic over again, too. forget the tape.

	3:16pm Archivist Vivian: I brought my casiotone on Friday night. It didn't work as well as the ukulele because I couldn't get people to leave the room as quick. They'd stay in there listening to me play whatever.

	3:18pm Archivist Vivian: I'll record my "The Music Of Shae Tull" segment tomorrow. Actually, the ukulele worked very well. My bosses loved it.

	3:43pm Mr Fab: Hey Otis and friendly friends! Funny, just last night I was going through my bookshelf pulled out my old Subgenius books, and saw I had a one-off comic book "Bob's favorite Comics" (or something like that.) Looked it up, turns out it's quite the collector's item, going for three figures nowadays. Hope to sell off some of my collectibles soon, praise Bob!

	3:47pm Archivist Vivian: I'm sad I never got to see Daniel Johnston. Someone very close to me almost got to see him on his last tour but couldn't get her passport in time. I'm finally seeing They Might Be Giants next March.

	3:58pm Archivist Vivian: Blair is one of the guys who discovered Mar-Tie and also posted Joe Meek Demos online (I believe that was him), so anything he shares is definitely gold.

	3:59pm Archivist Vivian: This sounds like it was played on a keyboard I got in 1999. I think it was a yamaha but I forget. We got rid of it several years ago, RIP.

	4:01pm Archivist Vivian: Mar-Tie's grandson Phil is actually letting me put one of his songs on a compilation I have yet to release. It's a compilation of music by people with mental illnesses etc. Myself and almost every musician I'm friends with has some sort of mental ailment so we've got a bit on there. I'll try to get it out within the next two weeks.

	♥ 4:17pm Rich in Washington: LL: I rarely see the classic thrift store cassette these days. I mean, like someone's homemade tapes.
	♥ 4:18pm Rich in Washington: Space Lady puts on a wonderful show, if she ever comes to your town.
	4:18pm Otis Fodder: Same here Rich... more scarce than say, 20 years ago.
	4:18pm Archivist Vivian: The two best home made tape finds I had were: A recording of what sounded like a musical rehearsal about Shakespeare's The Tempest from the 70s (it was a big hit on reddit, it's spooky and mystical) and it also had recordings of a woman who sounded like she was imitating Joan Baez
	4:19pm Linda Lee: when i lived in asheville i found them all the time. just amazing thrift stores ~ nickels, dimes, quarters.
	4:19pm Archivist Vivian: The other one was of a church organ performance played by "A Professional" as the written cover put it. The best part about that tape is when the churchgoers sing, the lady holding the cassette player sings very off key, it's really endearing and sweet.
	4:20pm Archivist Vivian: They're both online if anyone is interested. I've found other stuff too but those are the two best.
	4:21pm Linda Lee: sounds beautiful! i found a great one here in the catskills ~ a bunch of teenagers at a party, playing music & getting high. late 80s, early 90s, i think. just golden. melancholic.

	♥ 2:29pm Kat in Chicago: I am. Building is a hundred years or so old. Windows are pretty new so it's not as drafty as the some of the others I've lived in, but it's still kind of chilly.

	♥ 2:34pm Kat in Chicago: Nah, one is at the mercy of one's landlord in Chicago buildings such as these. The first two years I lived here it was actually overheated. Last year it started off super cold, but after repeated texts to the owner he finally got it properly adjusted.
	♥ 2:37pm Kat in Chicago: I didn't know Canadians had a Thanksgiving holiday at all! How is Halloween in Montreal, Otis? I find it boring in Chicago, honestly. I actually went to NYC that weekend last year. Bushwick on Halloween is pretty cute.
	2:38pm Linda Lee: glad to hear that. it's the same in nyc, generally. not many options aside of electric heaters to supplement.
	2:40pm Linda Lee: always had fun in nyc on hallowe'en, 70s - 90s. nightlife, parties, parade!
	♥ 2:40pm Kat in Chicago: Yeah I had one really bad landlord heating-wise when I lived in Manhattan in the 90s. And one place with electric baseboard heat which was mostly worthless.

	2:46pm Linda Lee: people don't like living in the same building as the landlord, but you get proper heat if you do.

	2:49pm Otis Fodder: Really worthless heat... quite often I throw plastic up over the windows and that helps. Thankfully the landlord put in new front windows 2 years back so no more drafts there... just drafts on the old wood cracks from floor to wall.

	2:53pm Linda Lee: here's a tip for window plastic: bubble wrap! that little layer of air really makes a difference. just wet the glass a little & static keeps it up.

	3:15pm Linda Lee: last bubble wrap tip: i found it really made a difference last winter. i have single pane windows! just spray a little water directly on the glass & press the plastic on lightly. it should hold for the season, unless the air goes super dry.

Funny, just last night I was going through my bookshelf pulled out my old Subgenius books, and saw I had a one-off comic book "Bob's favorite Comics" (or something like that.) Looked it up, turns out it's quite the collector's item, going for three figures nowadays. Hope to sell off some of my collectibles soon, praise Bob!

It's a compilation of music by people with mental illnesses etc. Myself and almost every musician I'm friends with has some sort of mental ailment so we've got a bit on there. I'll try to get it out within the next two weeks.

	4:18pm Archivist Vivian: The two best home made tape finds I had were: A recording of what sounded like a musical rehearsal about Shakespeare's The Tempest from the 70s (it was a big hit on reddit, it's spooky and mystical) and it also had recordings of a woman who sounded like she was imitating Joan Baez
	4:19pm Linda Lee: when i lived in asheville i found them all the time. just amazing thrift stores ~ nickels, dimes, quarters.
	4:19pm Archivist Vivian: The other one was of a church organ performance played by "A Professional" as the written cover put it. The best part about that tape is when the churchgoers sing, the lady holding the cassette player sings very off key, it's really endearing and sweet.
