We bring you Saturday night's early action live from the Grand Ballroom, center stage of this fabulous Balkan-inspired bacchanal.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm
Rob W:

These are VERY little kids playing right now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm
Rob W:

But to Dale's question - er, not exactly! They're kids who learned to play East European music this past August in an annual summer folk dance / music camp held in the Catskills, upstate NY - eefc.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm
Handy Haversack:

YOu give us hope, @queems!

Mr. Pumpy:

Hi, Rob. Loving the live vibes. Thank you!
  6:16pm
queems:

imagine learning how to play music 5 months ago and then playing in front of a crowd this large. and also being a child
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm
dale:

i lived so close to there for 14 years. and to me it was just a cheesy wedding venue commercial on late night tv.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm
Mr. Pumpy:

I'm loving the lumbering tempo of this song. It, along with the rhythm and melody, is making the song seem like it's on stilts. At least that's the way I see it. It is holding on...never falling down, even as it threatens to. Oh...it's over.
  6:18pm
queems:

i used to live a couple blocks away from grand prospect hall, and last night was my first time going inside. it’s surprisingly beautiful, in a liberace kind of way
Avatar 6:19pm
slugluv1313:

right, queems?
i mean, i remember ballet recitals when i was a kid -- but nothing like this!
@ dale -- EXACTLY! that is the appeal, SO over-the-top cheesey that you wanna get hitched *just* so you can have your wedding reception there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm
dale:

this makes me think that every school band in america should add alcohol and dancing. things hit a rhythm that way.

slugluv - the place had a certain appeal.
  6:21pm
queems:

@slugluv EXACTLY i walked in there last night and said to my bf “uhh i want to have my wedding here” and i don’t even want to have a wedding
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 6:23pm
Bas NL:

I'm really impressed by the level of these kids!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm
Handy Haversack:

Heh, that's excellent, @queems.

Kate's warming up her voice at the other end of the apt., which makes for a wild addition to Mlado Selo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm
dale:

queems. my gf and i went to city hall one day for a license. one morning the next week i said 'wanna go to city hall and get married today?' and that was the extent of it. we had a party a couple of weeks later at a bar in the east village. it was enough pomp for us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm
queems:

@dale that sounds like exactly my speed
Avatar 6:28pm
slugluv1313:

@ queems -- haha! yes, same here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm

Loving the music! The sound? Not so much. Any chance of fixing that? I know it's live but it sounds pretty rough compared to previous years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm
Rob W:

If there's something specific you're hearing I can convey it but on a general level nothing seems to me that much different from the past...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm

Vocals for this band a little overmodulated. Overall sound of this band is a little tinny.
