The music of Slovenian artist Katja Šulc brings together her love of poetry and song. Most recently, she set Roma poems to music on her album Kamlisajlan and its companion remix album. Her new project sets Mexican and South American poetry to music.

Katja Šulc joins us to share music from these projects and more, ahead of her show Tuesday evening February 25th at 6 at Rockwood Music Hall Stage One.

Whoops Armando - that's because I spelled their name incorrectly - it's Amasosha Kaduza - here's the album: www.discogs.com... . There were a lot of regional / language-specific styles in South African in the 80s and they were a Zulu trad vocal group but I don't know much more about them. If you look up the album's producer Lucky Monama on Discogs you'll find other similar music and that may give a little context: www.discogs.com...
