Caught the 8th Street R train back home and honestly, I was the literal only person in the station. And this was 6:00pm-ish on a Friday. So quiet and dead; even quieter than 6:00am on the same train.

FWIW, when I was on the N train yesterday, the car was nearly empty but there was an older Asian woman who was clearly a gleaner heading into Manhattan. Some guy and his girlfriend get on the same car and they are staring them down. Happily nothing else happened past that. But just sitting there watching it and waiting for the next shoe to drop was a pile garbage feelings. Horrible to think that is what people have to deal with on top of everything else.
