My mother used to make a particularly bizarre but delicious version of Swedish meatballs. It was made with chili sauce and grape jelly. I ain't fibbing.

Heinz chili sauce and grape jelly is the standard cocktail weenie sauce.

Nutmeg? Google says Swedish meatballs are actually based on a recipe King Charles XII brought home from Turkey in the early 18th century. So look for a köfte recepy..
