put out a 14 song album called A Breath Away From My Last on their own
label called 'No Light Music.' The sound of the band can be described as hard
rock, with a some punk and Goth influences thrown in. The band consists of
Steve Trilivas on vocals, Tom Clavin on lead guitar, Joe Dunne on rhythm
guitar, Bluto Fristachi on bass, and Jimmy Doom on drums. They are playing CBGB's on July 23rd.

Brute's 1968 John Simon-produced album, Confections of Love, was a strange mixture of cabaret-rock, outsider humor, and mystifying pop songcraft. Brute, who acts and teaches yoga, wrote songs for such well-known artists as The Chiffons, The Cyrkle, Del Shannon, and The Creation. He recorded one controversial 45 rpm single for Apple Records, which is listed in the censored song database of the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt. Brute was born in Jersey City, and lives in New York. He snorkels and once swam halfway across the Bering Strait. Glenn O'Brien, is the screenwriter and co-producer of the newly released film, Downtown 81. The
film, starring legendary painter/graffiti artist/poet/musician Jean Michel
Basquiat, depicts the explosive downtown art and music scene of 1980-81.
They'll discuss the history behind the film as well as the downtown denizens
who make up the cast- including Debbie Harry, Fab Five Freddie, Coati Mundi,
Suicide, Giorgio Giomelsky, Marshall Chess, Mudd Club proprietor Steve Mass
and many more. They'll also play music from the soundtrack which includes
never before released productions by Basquiat. O'Brien, a poet and
essayist, is currently working on a film about Andy Warhol. He is a former
editor and art director for Interview magazine editor, the host of the
seminal cable show "Glenn O'Brien's TV Party and all-around downtown
scenester and historian.
