Heinseng. I know we managed to broadcast during the Trump insurrection and Biden's Inauguration Day. Ridgewood Radio in the shadow of history.

Happy day heinseng. I'd like to avoid being predictable here, if at all possible.

Hello there, ngh. Leandre super interesting player.

Che Chen:

One of my faves!
  5:50pm
Dean:

Heard Leandre at Victo long ago, 1998, with the sublime Quartet Noir, then again at Phil Gelb's flat in Oakland in 2005. Ten years later she appeared again, but I missed it.

Myra informs me that she had hoped to record last year a new ensemble, Fire and Water, with Tomeka Reid, Ingrid Laubrock, Susie Ibarra and Mary Halvorson. No go, but she's hoping for this year.

That is one helluva grouping.

Hamid Drake is one of the finest percussionists I've ever seen. I'd also put Chad Taylor and Kevin Shea, and Susie Ibarra in that category....
  6:20pm
Dean:

You will of course play the little known track by Meghan Trainor, 2014's "All About That Bass"?
  6:21pm

(Though these bass players are all fully excepting of treble.)

Thanks, djazz. The new time has been tricky for some of our radio pals, specially Europe. For now, we hold steady.

Back in '99, a friend of mine played a Frith album (Guitar Solos, if I remember correctly), the first rekkid of his I found, was his 45 of his "dancing in the street". I was confused....
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:32pm

Multi note trombone, great stuff (shades of Manglesdorf)!

Boy, Haden gets more bass out of the same bass notes, it just feels grounded.
  6:46pm

I remember Frith, but paid little attention to him, during the Henry Cow/Art Bear years. Come 1980, I started to pay more attention courtesy of the Residents' Commercial Album.
