This Budd-Shostakovich transition is just another one of those magical WFMU moments, we might say

Bethany Ryker:

I need to find a recording of the chimes they play at before concerts and at intermission, use that to start the show! And flash the lights to get myself geared-up.

Aaah this shosta! too much excitement for a work night!

Bethany Ryker:

...better than a recording, I need to find some of those actual chimes, walk up and down my hallway!

@TDK60: My last sit-down concert show (Françoise Hardy @ The Beacon) was definitely steeped in Fear (just a few days before the lockdown order, it was... knowing even then that the virus was already rampant). But regrets, absolutely none!

Is the "Dirty Rotten Scherzo" a replay from Stork's Sunday show two weeks ago?

@Dean - amazing freeform coincidence! Glad Donald Erb is in heavy rotation on WFMU :) We'll be hearing three from Professor Erb tonight!
  8:24pm
Dean:

That's fantastic! I'm hoping among the three we'll hear at least one of the contrabassoon duets.

Listening to Stork's show, I wondered if WFMU had ever played Donald Martino's work.

No pun intended with Haba (Suite/sweet - Dulcimer/dolce, if I have that right). But a good (well, bad so far as a pun) one is "Czech your quarter tones"
