Good hello to ALL! and thank Plus for this weeks broadcast as my 'net is feelin' crappy this week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm
Scott67:

Can this be true? I have crap coming through sustained & strong!! Must be the fibre!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm
Rich in Washington:

Doo Rag might be in my top three live acts I've been fortunate to have witnessed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm
Rich in Washington:

They seriously need to reissue all their records.
Avatar 6:08pm
Don-O:

Rich: I had to scrounge around YouTube just to get the singles (not all of them) and put them on a CD-R called Early Doo-Rag.
Avatar 6:08pm
Mr Fab:

Great stuff. and Bob Log III of Doorag is still doing his thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm
Rich in Washington:

Their sound REALLY doesn't work in a big stage setting. I saw them open for The Cramps and it was really their followup set on the sidewalk in front of the venue that really blew me away. Just fucking amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh, Don-O. I will have to send you what I have.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:09pm
Kat in Chicago:

Oh that explains it! I don't know Doo Rag but when I heard the first track I thought it sounded like Bob Log, who I have seen a couple of times.
Avatar 6:10pm
Don-O:

Solid! More noise to wake up Bullhead City!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm
Rich in Washington:

The only Doo Rag I am hesitant to drop coin on is a Spanish 7" where it's one song in the left channel and another in the right channel. I've never heard the songs but not sure it's worth the collector prices it fetches.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm
Scott67:

Love it! Who came first, Doo Rag or Bob Log?
Avatar 6:11pm
Don-O:

Rich: I'll send you a track list of that EP I just mentioned, just in case....
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:11pm
Kat in Chicago:

Haha Rich, did they do that intentionally or did someone mess up?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm
Rich in Washington:

The swag they were selling out of a steamer trunk on the street was amazing. Just like rebranded hardware items, leather gloves, shop rags, etc.. plus their albums on reel-to-reel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm
Rich in Washington:

It's intentionally messed up, Kat. Gloriously so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm
Rich in Washington:

It was Doo Rag first, then Bob Log and drummer Thermos Malling had a falling out and Bob Log went solo.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:13pm
Kat in Chicago:

Damn, I'm sorry I missed out on Doo Rag. I liked Bob Log III a lot.
Avatar 6:13pm
Don-O:

Pardon the squeaky chair.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm
Scott67:

Ah! So that is Bob Log Mr.Fab.
Avatar 6:14pm
Otis Fodder:

Nice! Man or Astroman!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm
Rich in Washington:

Malling later did a really funny 8-Bit type electronic music thing but it also a busy designer guy.

Feldpausch:

Oh man I fucking LOVE Man or Astro-Man? They have a great live show. Part MST3K, part circus, part comedy... all tasty surf rock
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm
Rich in Washington:

The last show I saw at Portland's legendary Satyricon was Man or Astroman? They too were amazing. That whole bill was fantastic. Cheater Slicks, Mono Men, Subsonics. Crazy.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:15pm
Kat in Chicago:

Hi Otis! Hi Don! Hi Scott67! Hi crappers!
Avatar 6:16pm
Don-O:

Anybody got lucky enough to get their ENTIRE catalog?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm
Scott67:

Don, loud and lumpy mate! 💩🤘
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm
Rich in Washington:

Geez. Not me. I have a handful of their early LPs and singles but lost track of them after the mid 90s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm
Scott67:

Never heard these guys! But that shit is gonna change!!
  6:19pm
Mark R:

I have, but not in decades--forgot how great they were!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm
Rich in Washington:

They're a lot of fun, Scott67. I heartily recommend them. Lots of great live YouTube videos by them.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:20pm
Kat in Chicago:

I've only seen them once and I forgot where it was! I just remember it was outside, probably one of the street fairs Chicago had in Better Times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Scott67:

Cheers for the Log knowledge Rich!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Kat in Chicago:

I think they set stuff on fire?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Feldpausch:

I have a handful of LPs, including their most recent, and some bootlegs I made at three shows
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm
Rich in Washington:

I remember it taking them something like three hours to set up their stage set on Satyricon's tiny stage. It did look a lot like the Satellite of Love set from MST3K. I ended up striking a conversation with their projectionist and years later, met him DJing at the same college radio station.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm
Feldpausch:

Kat... they set a theramin on fire
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:23pm
Kat in Chicago:

A theremin, Feldpausch? Damn, I must have been drinking if I forgot that detail.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm
Rich in Washington:

I remember them setting up both a theremin and a tesla coil but I don't recall if they did anything with them. That was a crazy night. It was also something like 120º in the club.
Avatar 6:26pm
Don-O:

120 INDOORS!?!?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:27pm
Kat in Chicago:

I just demolished a cheese dog and fries from Al's Beef. I haven't been eating fast food, but there is an Al's on the way home from where I was running errands this afternoon, and I thought it might make me feel more normal to stuff my face with Vienna Beef and fresh cut fries like a true Chicagoan. It was half cold when I got it home but it was still worth it.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:27pm
Aitch:

The eternal question, if we like it, is it still crap?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm
Rich in Washington:

maybe not literally. Just really goddamned hot and the club had no air conditioning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm
Rich in Washington:

I want a hot dog now, Kat!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:28pm
Kat in Chicago:

This is the perfect music for hot dogs and fries.
Avatar 6:29pm
Don-O:

As my doctors keep telling me there are GOOD cholesterol and BAD cholesterol.....
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:30pm
Kat in Chicago:

Oh this is all bad cholesterol, but some things you gotta do for mental health. I likely won't do it again till warm weather.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm
Feldpausch:

One of the MOAM shows I saw, Birdstuff disassembled his drum kit at the end of the show and stacked the pieces in a tower over his head
Avatar 6:32pm
Don-O:

One of many things I'm jealous of Chicago....that plus Quibly's.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:33pm
Kat in Chicago:

Quimby's? The bookstore?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm
Scott67:

I have a 4 pack of Debreziner in the fridge, I'll start em cooking. But some of you will have to share, or go vegan, I have bread.
Avatar 6:33pm
Don-O:

Yup! Zines, a'hoy!!!!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:33pm
Kat in Chicago:

Ha, Feldpausch, I wish I'd seen that.
Avatar 6:33pm
Don-O:

Quimbly's, that is.....
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:34pm
Kat in Chicago:

Quimby's is awesome but I haven't been there in years :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm
Scott67:

Aitch, if a crap falls in the forest, does it still make a smell?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:36pm

Ah, Lounge Ax. Worst name but a memorable club indeed.

Martinibomb:

Don-O!!! I'm here buddy ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm
Rich in Washington:

a friend recently reminded me of a 90s live show highlight: The Jim Rose Sideshow. Pretty damn memorable. It seems like they were opening for everybody for a spell and once saw them headline their own show.
Avatar 6:39pm
Mr Fab:

I saw Man or Astroman live at the good ol Rhino Records store (r.i.p.). So funny.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:40pm
Kat in Chicago:

I remember the name The Jim Rose Sideshow and absolutely nothing else about him or them
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:41pm
Aitch:

Mr Lifto....lifting weights with his ballsack, nice work
Avatar 6:41pm
Mr Fab:

Jim Rose Sideshow had all kinds of cringey acts, guys who skewer themselves and whatnot,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm
Rich in Washington:

I think they got a big boost by doing Lollapalooza and peaked by being on an X Files episode, then sort of disappeared.
Avatar 6:42pm
Don-O:

Hey, MBomb!!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:42pm
Kat in Chicago:

Oh, okay, that rings a bell. Don't care much for that sort of thing myself.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:43pm
Kat in Chicago:

I just checked the date of this recording to see if I might have been in attendance, but I was in NYC by 1995.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm
Rich in Washington:

Yeah, and Matt 'The Tube' Frawley (?) who would run a tube into his stomach and do all kinds of nuttiness best left to your imagination.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 6:43pm
Aitch:

Not really a sustainable career
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44pm
Rich in Washington:

I just remember being rather drunk and being somewhat freaked out by the chainsaw juggling routine that turned into a game of catch with running chainsaws over our hears.
