Good morning, Tom! Hope you're hunkered down and keeping warm. Great way to ease us into the snowy afternoon. :)

TomDash:

Hey there HyperDose - yep, keeping warm...just gonna have to do some shoveling later! digging into the jams for now...

I was perusing your store's site, very nice!. I did some time at the wine shop here in Maplewood. My dad gave me a copy of Kevin Zraly's book as a crash course, and as it turned out, my old boss and his wife took his class. It's my bible now.

TomDash:

Nice! Yeah I changed careers several years back and Kevin Zraly's book was my first crash course too! Perfect intro...

HyperDose:

What did you do before the wine business if you don't mind me asking?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am
TomDash:

Worked in independent film distribution, marketing, theatrical booking...left that and did a stint at booking bands which didn't pay the bills! Then fell into wine retail sales...

That's amazing, and inspiring! It's definitely more beneficial to expand your skillset as much as possible. Opens more doors. Growing up I idolized A&R's, but realized that's a tough gig to land. Way more fun to be the guy behind the desk twisting knobs!

happy snowstorm!

Hey there LesleyK! indeed...although I'm gonna have to shovel out the shop in a few!

oh man, good luck w that!

Blowin' Through Yokohama! is more than reasonably priced on Discogs. And Witch was the first Zambian band to record and release a commercial album? To the wishlist you both go!

This radio station is saving my soul! Thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am
TomDash:

Hey there @Sunraye - thanks for hanging! And I LOVE my Hawkwind (but that's for my OTHER show...ha!) - www.wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am
TomDash:

Yeah HyperDose - Witch is a great band - all those early records got reissued - I missed the shows, but they actually reunited and toured the states a year or 2 ago...Zambia 70s rock/funk is pretty great across the board....
Avatar 11:54am
HyperDose:

Yeah the 2013 reissue is much more reasonably priced then the original pressing ($500), holy cow! I love the mix of styles.

Thank you Tom! I thought it couldn't get better than Down in the Basement, but you really blew my mind with last week's DotDash Radio. Stay safe and warm everyone!

TomDash:

Hey thanks HyperDose - glad you dig the show(s)! Thanks y'all for hanging this morning for the funk...time to get on my boots and shovel! Til next week...

Tom! Dashers and Downers! Sounds like you were trying to melt the snow with funk heat today.
