Artist | Track | Album | Comments | Images | Approx. start time |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Addicts | Without God I Would Be Nothing | The Addicts Sing | (Notes: The Addicts Sing is now well-known, but did you know that one of the members was John Gimenez, a big wheel in the Reconstructionalist Movement who were tight with Reagan… - Jello pg. 40) | 0:00:00 (Pop-up) | |
(Bonus Track) Teen Challenge Addicts Choir | The Addicts Plea | Teen Challenge Addicts Choir | 0:03:56 (Pop-up) | ||
(Bonus Track) Soul Session | Side 1 (Introduction/Hallelujah (song)/James Thurber Testimony) | A Peek into the Drug Abuse Preventive Center | (Notes: Found at an antique shop in Grand Junction, Colorado while visiting my grandma back in the early 2000s. - Your D.J.) | 0:08:14 (Pop-up) | |
(Bonus Track) Teen Challenge Addicts Choir | Psalms 40 | Teen Challenge Addicts Choir | 0:22:30 (Pop-up) | ||
The Royal Heirs | It’s Not an Easy Road | Sacred Saxophones | (Notes: “The Sacred Saxophones” by the Royal Heirs is hands-down the most miserable, depressing collection of dirges I’ve ever heard. They always talk about how “uplifting” religious music is supposed to be, but not the Royal Heirs! Suicidal teens beware- you’re much safer with Ozzy or Judas Priest!” - Jello pg. 40) One of the more depressing tracks on this LP. I didn't even make it to side 2 while prepping this show. lol -Your D.J. | ||
People’s Temple Choir | Set Them Free | He's Able | (Notes: “He’s Able,” by the People’s Temple Choir, shows Mrs. Jim Jones with piled-up hair singing off-key Godspell Songs, a lot of hallelujah-ing people,…” Jello pg. 40) | 0:26:49 (Pop-up) | |
People’s Temple Choir | Hold On, Brother | He's Able | (These don’t sound off key to me and I’ve never hear Godspell but don’t think any of these tracks were on that. - Your D.J.) | 0:29:24 (Pop-up) | |
People’s Temple Choir | Welcome | He's Able | (“…plus about a hundred little kids - one wonders: where are they now?” - Jello pg. 40) | 0:31:50 (Pop-up) | |
Art Linkletter | We Love You, Call Collect | We Love You, Call Collect Plus Interviews With Young Drug Users | (“We all remember “We Love Your Diane,” by Art Linkletter, released after she dropped acid and jumped out the window, and before Art went on his campaign to stop drugs and promote contour chairs. (He narrates a PMRC video, by the way.” - Jello pg. 40) | 0:33:26 (Pop-up) | |
Art Linkletter | Dear Mom and Dad | We Love You, Call Collect Plus Interviews With Young Drug Users | 0:39:27 (Pop-up) | ||
(Bonus Track) The Bran Flakes | Dear Mom and Dad | I Don't Have a Friend | 0:43:19 (Pop-up) | ||
Victor Lundberg | Open Letter to my Teenage Son | Open Letter to my Teenage Son | (Notes: “An even funnier one is Victor Lundberg’s “Open Letter to My Teenage Son.” With patriotic music he goes on and on about how we have freedom and the right to do this and that - “but burn your draft card, I will have no son.” He’s got some interesting thoughts on “the long hair,” too.” - Jello pg. 40) | 0:46:19 (Pop-up) | |
(Bonus Track) Brandon Wade | Letter From a Teenage Son | 45RPM Single | (I didn't know this one existed till just last night! - Your D.J.) | 0:50:35 (Pop-up) | |
(Bonus Track) Victor Lundberg | To The Flower Power | Open Letter to my Teenage Son | 0:53:18 (Pop-up) | ||
(Dan McCurdy) Youth Against Drugs | Side 2 | Presents Drugs ...and What Your Own Child Won't Tell You. | (Notes: Featured album cover on the bottom of pg. 40) | 0:56:11 (Pop-up) | |
Dr. Jerry Falwell | Side 2 | Where Are The Dead? | (Featured album cover on the top of pg. 41) Seeing if I can make it through this one for the first time in my life... - Your D.J. | 1:09:21 (Pop-up) | |
Stryper | Soldiers Under Command | Soldiers Under Command | (Notes: Christian heavy metal is another genre perversion: at their concerts Stryper threw bibles out to the crowd. One album shows them posing with bombs painted to match their striped spandex pants and sporting Farrah Fawcett ’70’s wigs and makeup. I wonder if the Charlie’s Angles cast realized their most lasting influence would be on heavy metal wig-styles!” - Jello pg. 41) | 1:36:31 (Pop-up) | |
The Messiah Prophet Band | Rock The Flock | Rock the Flock | (Notes: “They feel that because it has satanic rhythms handed down from the druids, it’s still satanic music - therefore groups like Stryper are either knowingly leading children to hell, or unknowingly are under the influence of druids and satanists. But that doesn’t deter people like the Messiah Prophet Band, who do “Rock the Flock”! - Jello pg. 41) | 1:41:30 (Pop-up) | |
(Bonus track) Church Universal And Triumphant, Inc. Featuring Elizabeth Clare Prophet | Video Shorts With Two Announcements (Excerpt)/Preamble - Great Divine Rector's Cal/ Invocation For Judgement Against And Destruction Of Rock Music | The Sounds Of American Doomsday Cults Vol. 14 | 1:45:09 (Pop-up) | ||
The Rap'Sures | You Must Be Born Again | Gospel Rap | (“There’s also Christian rap, by the Rap’sures: “You Must Be Born Again” and “Break Out for Jesus.” - Jello pg. 41) | 1:50:57 (Pop-up) |

Researchers at Indiana University, commissioned by Indiana school officials in 1992, found that those who completed the D.A.R.E. program subsequently had significantly higher rates of hallucinogenic drug use than those not exposed to the program.[6]
