Considering how bad Entergy is at maintaining the grid, it’s dumb luck that we’re not getting rain till it warms up tomorrow. Happy Mardi Gras everyone aside for the antipodeans out there.

Well thank you Scott, I grew up here & I don't often think of it as a beautiful city (lots of heartache for me, not the city's fault), but downtown & some other areas are quite nice.

when i was a teen they spent a fortune to "beautify" downtown so to attract shoppers, so whatever quaint small town historical thing it had was now faux-historic. fake brick sidewalks; fake antique town clock and benches (that young people were always chased away from by the cops); fake converted gas streetlamps...and of course the plan didn't work.
now, on top of the ugly, they've jammed 3-story block-like buildings everywhere.
beyond downtown is mostly standard middle-class suburbs, mostly single family homes; and a bit of industry in the other direction.
