In 1980, aged a tender 12 years old, I ill-advisedly watched the first episode of the original two-part Salem's Lot next door at my friend Ben's house when it was broadcast here. He lived on a farm with a very long, tree-lined driveway. When I left the house I was absolutely crapping myself, and I sprinted as fast as I could back home. Little did I know that my brother, coming out for a late smoke, had heard my footsteps, guessed it was me and hid behind our front hedge. As I came round the corner he jumped out at me. You guys probably heard the subsequent scream in New Jersey.

Andrew Waterloo:

There was an internet analysis that concluded the cat needs time to relax their back muscles and position for a landing. Otherwise they have a survivable terminal velocity.

Stanley, has it been a year since we enjoyed the sights and sounds of Liberty Airport and NJ Transit?

This Wye Oak outfit has been a bit catchy.

Sem, not quite but soon. I even miss the mousehole of a room I stayed in at Journal Square before moving downtown JC.

That Wye Oak slaps. A very not-boring band named after a pretty boring place (though at least it's close to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which is cool).

This Mako Sica track reminds me of some of Miles Davis's mid-70s stuff, very echoey and mysterious...

Hello Mark! I actually know nothing about Miles Davis in the 70s, so I'll take your word on it.

My cat is relaxing his back muscles as he lays on the sofa in a pool of sunshine.

I find switching browsers to Chrome helps with the drop-outs.

I'm always curious when you play these self-released tracks--do the artists just send them directly to you, or how do you find them?

Mary Wing:

So many drop-outs today, what is the deal?
Avatar 2:54pm
Mary Wing:

Most self-released stuff is found; not too many artists send me music or links but there are a few, heh...

Some of them I found while searching for other songs for the 3 of a kind segment, actually.

Thanks for the spins today, Mary. That drop-out thing sent me to VLC and the 128MP3 stream. Working well for me. See you later.
