I'm not sure I can properly convey the magnitude of Chris Albertyn's generosity. For more than a decade he shared, via the blog Electric Jive, hundreds upon hundreds of rare and miraculous South African musical offerings. (And wonders from elsewhere on the continent as well.) Along with the music was smart, comprehensive historical detail and commentary. It has enriched my life personally (and this radio show) so monumentally. To have Chris join me on this show is a dream come true.

Give the harpsichordist some: This NYT story about Scott Ross is pretty terrific. His complete Scarlatti traversal is phenomenal; I recall first hearing it when KPFK in LA played the whole flippin' thing over the course of a couple days.
