I've seen Junior three times, all at the sadly gone Johnny D's in Somerville. The first time in 2007 he finished with some surf-oriented freakout and some guy had his girlfriend in the scrum dancing like that girl at the end of the beach party movies. At enjoyable as THAT was, I asked her gently to do that two steps to her right because I was trying to see, you know, the guitar player.

@Squints - Johnny D's! RIP that and all the music venues in and around Boston that I went to and played in. I can't remember which club on Landsdowne I saw Junior in '95, I'm thinking Mama Kin? Not sure if it was Avalon or Axis. But I know it was amazing and it looked like everyone who worked at the Boston guitar shops was in the crowd that night to see Junior
  12:14pm
DG:

That's funny Roe covered that, since the Beatles used to do "Sheila" way back when...Roe said he met John once & he told him that, & he didn't believe him until the "Live at the Star Club" album came out & it was on it. John has also said, in an interview, that they finished "I Wanna Be Your Man" "in front of" the Stones (they needed a follow-up to their 1st hit), so maybe it was partly written before. When I saw Richards on his solo tour in '88, that was part of his set.

We have a converted church in Plymouth call the Spire Center where I've seen The Stompers, Aztec Two Step (before Neal retired), NRBQ (Terry's newer crew) and the Poussette-Dart Band. Most of the bars here have cover bands, although New World Tavern (beer bar) did have Barrence Whitfield a few years ago.

The renovated Memorial Hall has some bigger sorts of acts. There I've seen America, The Asbury Jukes and John Hiatt. And Joan Jett (chaperoning my then 15-year-old middle daughter).

Golden State : I love this song.

I got to chat with John Doe when he played at Monty Hall. Nice guy.

In Amarillo trash like big pieces of styrofoam or long strips of stretch wrap fall out of the sky from regional landfills and the sustained winds, Amarillo is the windiest City in US and maybe the ugliest.

clarke, who'd you play with?

I've seen the spamps a couple of times. But only out on the Cape. I know they played T-Bones in 2012 but I was out of town.

I tend to stay out of T-Bones. There's two places in town where the chairs might go out the windows and that's one of 'em.

I haven't listened to Kathleen Edwards's new one yet. I should do that.

An Amarillo intersection is a constant scene of confrontation. A Waffle House neighbors an IHOP, I have seen it. A bewildering and disgusting site. www.google.com...
