"Birdses" is a variant on "The Little House", by Josef Berger and Jeff Klonlaris, well performed by Lee Hays of the Weavers, and in this case, The Babysitters.

very sexy nature boy!

I wasn't listening closely enough, did you say that some of the songs in the first set (Akron/Family?) were basically anti-piracy "chaff" remixes to confuse those trying to illicitly download the album in advance? So, like that whole Madonna "what the fuck do you think you're doing?" thing? I'm trying to remember if any other bands did this during the heights of Napster/Kazaa/etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm
jj.:

yeah, though the ak mixes were intended to be cool on their own, and confuse things a bit. as is my life story, i missed that madona ___ thing.

Iºkºe:

@jj@9:37, I also find Madonna to be of little interest, but the A/F thing reminded me of how in 2003 she leaked a fake version of her new-at-the-time album on peer-to-peer sites where every track was just a loop of her saying "what the fuck do you think you're doing?" (And then of course someone took that as a sample and remixed into something weird.) I wonder how common this was. Some call this "torrent poisoning" but that seems like it could be too broad a term.

I finally found a long lost short film. I thought it featured music by Ornette Coleman, but it was Sun Ra, very early Sun Ra circa 1950s, Chicago.

The Centennial Dream Arkestra, sparked by memory. The Cry of Jazz (1959) by the late Edward Bland. Thank you Jesse. It's been years, since I've seen it. Ya made my night.
