Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

WFMU's Give the Drummer Radio and Hinky Dinky Time denounce explicit and implicit racism. We condemn the culture of white supremacy, which enables the brutalization of black people and other communities of color. We support Black Lives Matter and the movement it stands for. |

...Currently no Income - so it's a rough Marathon for me. Things always change though! Whenerver I've earned even a hand to mouth wage - I've done Swag For Life when I even could. Minimum of $10/ month - automatically, no organizing ! & the steady drip is the best for WFMU as well !
...& when you Pledge *now* - you're a CHAMP picking up for slack wagons like me - who NEED FMU - but can't lug our weight @ this time. <3 <3 <3

I was furloughed for about 4 months last year and WFMU helped me a lot. More than just the great music, DJs, and comment board community, it made me think, the sum of the station is even greater than its many amazing parts. I want more of *this* (gestures to all of WFMU) in the world. I have a hard time thinking of a station/entity/cultural product that has been more life-affirming.
That's all a long way of saying, with steady income again, I'm ready to pay FMU back for all the joy it's provided me. There really is no better value for money spent.

Saw a Susan Alcorn with Mary Halvorson back a bit at the Village Vanguard, she's pretty amazing.

As the late Dr. Gene Scott used to say, 'I want the phones (metaphorically speaking) to light up with people who CARE!'
