Charles Mingus said jazz was a word invented to separate musicians from their money. Music for a Free World brings us together, drawing listeners to the healing power of smooth free jazz. Each week, surprise guests bring their own sides to spin and their instruments of choice to spontaneously jam.

We are so lucky.
And if all this isn't enough, Dave has ensured that his program presents an egalitarian opportunity for women artists and as well as lesser-known artists deserving wider recognition.
And then there's COVID. Here you have a radio show built on the strength of having two wonderful, creative beings getting together and collaborating to make something special happen. And along comes COVID, banishing the intimacy and connection you might think essential to such an effort, and Dave laughed COVID in the face and kept right on doing the show and welcoming in guests via a remote hook-up whose audio fidelity has occasionally been the envy of so-called professional/commercial broadcasters.
We are so incredibly lucky.
Please take a moment and show a measure of your appreciation by dropping some coins into Dave's open guitar case. Make a pledge credited to his program by using this link: pledge.wfmu.org...

Have you heard Thomas Schultz's recording of 4'33"? No? Neither has he.
