	♥ 12:58am mariano: Scott67: It's the only way I play it. The older ones (III, Vice City, San Andreas, and IV) shouldn't be that expensive on Steam. My favorite in terms of story is San Andreas, a real love letter to California, both the real one and the many Californias of cinema, though the graphics are very dated by today's standards. store.steampowered.com... WWOZ! Yeah, FMU was a real lifeline after Katrina. And I'm glad I was able to enjoy KUSF during my time in San Francisco ('95-'98).
	♥ 12:59am spodiodi: you should be able to pick it up fairly cheap -- it was released initially in 2013, i think (have seen it on sale for ~20 bucks (or less) more than a couple of times) -- but i like hearing about your pirate dad :D ... and, in that case, have you played any Fallout? (Fallout 4 is my fave... have played it through a few times.)

There's even a stunningly-rendered recreation of 19th-century New Orleans and south Louisiana in general (called St. Denis in the game). Paulo AD: Witcher 3 is another mind-blowingly good one. I really need to play it again.

	♥ 1:12am mariano: Scott67: The landscapes are so beautifully done in Red Dead 2. You can just ride your horse around for hours. As with the GTA games, I end up spending most of my time wandering, looking for Easter eggs. Thanks for the recommendation, Toutevoix! I play maybe one game a year, maybe two, but when I do, I go down the rabbit hole for a couple of months. Paulo: I bought a bunch of the AC games on sale but have yet to play them; last one I played was AC2 when it first came out. I love how educational that series is; I learned a thing or two about Renaissance art and architecture as well as Italian history and geography from that one.

She's worked for the New Museum, PBS/WNET, some NGOs, and when I told her that FMU has no corporate or other types of sponsors, she didn't believe me; she thought I was being naive. So I showed her the website and she was really impressed; she'd never encountered anything like it before. spodi: RDR2 is very worth it. And I used to live not far from the Farolito on Church across from the Safeway, though before that I used to live at 24th and Treat, where there were too many good taquerias to keep track of.

One weekend, she suggested we go to this water park in Concord because her skating group had rented it out and were having a party, and I said sure, let's to it. I got some shrooms for the occasion, and we were tripping balls by the time we got there. As the day progressed, I started noticing that aside from park personnel, I was literally the only guy there. I also started noticing that most of the women had short hair and appeared to be couples. Finally I said "Uh, Maya, I think you might've picked the wrong weekend and I don't think this is your roller-boogie group." Everyone was really cool towards me, but they sure were giving me these puzzling "What are you doing here?" looks, lol. Good times.

Scott67: One of my favorite live-music moments was at an L7 show in SF around the same time as the water-park debacle. In the mosh pit, there was this obnoxious frat-boy type, shirtless, trying to get fresh with some of the women, really pissing everyone off. At one point, he went up behind this woman and put his hands on her boobs, and without missing a beat, this very tough-looking woman standing nearby cold-cocked him right in the jaw and he went down like the proverbial sack of potatoes to a great cheer from the audience and the band.

My favorite in terms of story is San Andreas, a real love letter to California, both the real one and the many Californias of cinema, though the graphics are very dated by today's standards. store.steampowered.com... WWOZ! Yeah, FMU was a real lifeline after Katrina. And I'm glad I was able to enjoy KUSF during my time in San Francisco ('95-'98).

There's even a stunningly-rendered recreation of 19th-century New Orleans and south Louisiana in general (called St. Denis in the game). Paulo AD: Witcher 3 is another mind-blowingly good one. I really need to play it again.

As with the GTA games, I end up spending most of my time wandering, looking for Easter eggs. Thanks for the recommendation, Toutevoix! I play maybe one game a year, maybe two, but when I do, I go down the rabbit hole for a couple of months. Paulo: I bought a bunch of the AC games on sale but have yet to play them; last one I played was AC2 when it first came out. I love how educational that series is; I learned a thing or two about Renaissance art and architecture as well as Italian history and geography from that one.

She's worked for the New Museum, PBS/WNET, some NGOs, and when I told her that FMU has no corporate or other types of sponsors, she didn't believe me; she thought I was being naive. So I showed her the website and she was really impressed; she'd never encountered anything like it before. spodi: RDR2 is very worth it. And I used to live not far from the Farolito on Church across from the Safeway, though before that I used to live at 24th and Treat, where there were too many good taquerias to keep track of.

One weekend, she suggested we go to this water park in Concord because her skating group had rented it out and were having a party, and I said sure, let's to it. I got some shrooms for the occasion, and we were tripping balls by the time we got there. As the day progressed, I started noticing that aside from park personnel, I was literally the only guy there. I also started noticing that most of the women had short hair and appeared to be couples. Finally I said "Uh, Maya, I think you might've picked the wrong weekend and I don't think this is your roller-boogie group." Everyone was really cool towards me, but they sure were giving me these puzzling "What are you doing here?" looks, lol. Good times.

Scott67: One of my favorite live-music moments was at an L7 show in SF around the same time as the water-park debacle. In the mosh pit, there was this obnoxious frat-boy type, shirtless, trying to get fresh with some of the women, really pissing everyone off. At one point, he went up behind this woman and put his hands on her boobs, and without missing a beat, this very tough-looking woman standing nearby cold-cocked him right in the jaw and he went down like the proverbial sack of potatoes to a great cheer from the audience and the band.
