No heat in winter and no cooling in summer. The buzz of sewing machines like a sci-fi hive. The workforce were highly skilled and poorly paid. There were men like my father assembling coats but the work force were mostly women.

No heat in winter and no cooling in summer. The buzz of sewing machines like a sci-fi hive. The workforce were highly skilled and poorly paid.
