Hi Therese and Therese party!
  6:02pm Jett:

Patsy Cline lives!
  6:03pm Jett:

Welcome @Therese, so happy to be enjoying your show. Lovely beginning.
  6:03pm Ralphus:

Don’t hear this song very often. Kinda reminds me of Buddy Holly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm Scott67:

G'day Therese & Friends!

Hello Therese, everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm Therese:

Hello!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm chresti:

Back in the studio?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm dale:

herro dere. nice easy sounds to digest supper to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm chresti:

Coffee time here.
Avatar 6:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

GutenNoches !
  6:17pm PMD:

Delta dawn!!!
  6:17pm Jett:

"Delta Dawn" I tend to prefer the Alex Harvey original. I'm also partial to the Tanya Tucker version which I believe Helen Reddy sort of copied.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm dale:

finally the station gets that some of these old songs are good and not garbage-y oldies. or else ken is just tuning out lately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm dale:

sensational alex harvey did that first?
  6:21pm Gerry from Miami:

First time to your show, Therese. "Aces" so far!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm efd:

@dale = a different Alex Harvey, not the "Sensational" one. (Though I'm sure he was sensational in his own right.)
  6:23pm Jett:

The american Alex Harvey, not the guy from Glasgow.
Avatar 6:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

That's not confusing !
Yeah dale - those huge A.M. radio Hits that were omnipresent ! Made fun of them (we was kids, after all) - but they stayed on our minds ...& we sang them - even if in goofy voices with mocking words... Remove the overexposure - & ya kinda like the thing !! ...Not even a little bit of an analogy to Life Itself... Pointers going LowDown Blooz...
  6:28pm Jett:

Willie Fulton's guitar work on The Pointer Sisters version of Wang Dang Doodle is exceptional.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm efd:

YAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
Avatar 6:30pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Congratulations !
  6:31pm Jett:

I'm happy that you are blessed to be back at the WFMU studios. @Therese
Avatar 6:31pm wolfette:

Hoooorrraaay for being back in the studio!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm chresti:

Your excitement is palpable, Therese!
  6:33pm Jon in John's Island:

One of the best shows on WFMU!
  6:33pm Jett:

When "No One Receiving" was new, it spent a lot of time on my turntable. What a great track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm chresti:

*And contagious!
Avatar 6:34pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Can remember so clearly Staysh talking about how FMU would probly shut down like so many other stations... & the feeeling of that whole time. Something of a bellweather this is !
  6:34pm goes211:

Loud n Clear, Therese!!!! Loud n Clear!
  6:34pm Jett:

1977 was such a great year for music!
  6:36pm queems:

oh man i haven’t thought of this song in a while
  6:37pm queems:

it always reminded me of the thong song tho
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm Therese:

You and me both, @queems.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm dale:

had to look him up efd. didn't know that was a country hit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm dale:

(sorry for the delayed reaction - was feeding fraidy cat)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm radioronan:

Congrats on being back in the studio Therese!
  6:41pm Jett:

Better than the Bee Gees song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm chresti:

In other news it's 89 degrees here, down from 90.
  6:42pm Jett:

I hear some Fela influence there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm dale:

okay - does anyone here watch toyah and robert fripp's youtube videos?
  6:42pm wendy del formaggio:

Hi Therese! Your mic break made me smile because your joy is contagious. Welcome back to the station! ❀️
  6:43pm Jett:

Can never go wrong with some Toyah Wilcox. Just ask Robert Fripp.
Avatar 6:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

dale no - cause stoopid.
  6:44pm Jett:

I always loved the pic/sleeve of this Toyah single.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45pm Therese:

@dale: those videos are SOMETHING!
  6:46pm Gerry from Miami:

TOYAH! The honorable Mrs. Robert Fripp! She and her hubby have been posting frequent videos of classic tunes. I get them from Google on their daily feed. Catch this couple if you can!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm dale:

they aren't my bag. i wish he did his thing apart from her. but maybe she's the reason he does it at all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm dale:

but they're both great looking pensioners, for sure.
  6:50pm Gerry from Miami:

@dale Are you a big King Crimson fan? Robert has been doing his thing with that band for over 50 years now! And the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame continues to ignore his lasting influence with their snub of prog rock in general.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm chresti:

Looks like they have a nice kitchen, dale.
Avatar 6:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Messis has the 1960s GaragePsych sound DOWN. I would absolutely believe it was authentic.
Avatar 6:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...drums recorded a little too well :D ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm chresti:

Is Toyah Robert's Yoko?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm dale:

i have the albums. and of course exposure...yeah - rock and roll hall of fame is a farce.

i had to look paul messis up. surprised that was a new tune. thought it was springfield rifle or the human beinz.
Avatar 6:55pm Billy Jam:

hello Therese + fellow WFMU listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm chresti:

Hi Billy Jam!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Yay, Therese! Sunday evening soiree!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm Zetti:

Good afternoon Therese and crew.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm Rick from SC:

Hey folks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Are you obliged to perform your DJ job that you had before? (Vacuuming, emptying wastebaskets, etc.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm efd:

@KenFHP I was wondering this as well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm dale:

ha ha! i think trouble took the towels home to launder.
  7:02pm marky:

What is the cool music playing behind you just now between sets? Kind of Raybeat-ish surf noir.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm chresti:

Maybe Neil Young and Daryl Hannah could make videos together, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm dale:

this is cool. a peter murphy vibe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Therese:

@KenFHP & @efd: chores were not mentioned in my instructions from Station Manager Ken, but I'm so happy to be here that I think I'll clean the fridge anyway!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Therese:

@marky- that's Follow Your Bliss, from the B-52s' Cosmic Thing album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm dale:

can darryl hannah sing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm chresti:

Has too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm chresti:

He could teach her how to play the ukulele.
Avatar 7:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

If she played my piano I'd be her soprano
...I just like to say that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm listener 126464:

this
  7:09pm Jett:

My disappointment with Neil Young has begun with this latest reissue release of "After The Gold Rush" at $100.00 a clip..Seems greedy and exploitative for what you are getting.
  7:09pm Phillippe Bastille:

This is nice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm G:

@Jett: This note's for you.
Avatar 7:12pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Is it some phat 6-disc box ??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm dale:

daryl's plastic surgery wasn't cheap.
Avatar 7:16pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...'Gold Rush' indeed...
www.oldies.com...
Avatar 7:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Many of his contemporaries are selling their entire catalogs now - last big cashout before the Last Big Cashout...
  7:18pm PJ:

@Jett: Neil lost his ranch and probably a good chunk of his wealth when he dumped his wife for Darryl Hannah. He's gotta make up for it somehow.
  7:19pm Gerry from Miami:

They keep telling us that recording artists aren't able to make much of a living based solely on streaming royalties. Supposedly nobody is buying "records" anymore, be they vinyl, CD or even cassette. So enterprising artists like Mr. Young are issuing these humongous box sets. And as you said, Jett, they don't come cheap. But who is really buying them? The pop music fans of the world need to know!
  7:20pm PJ:

@Jett: But seriously, everything Neil puts out nowadays is way overpriced, I wonder if he has any idea what things actually cost in the real world. "It's an LP, Michael, how much could it cost, a hundred dollars?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm G:

@Gerry: superfans and completists
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm dale:

when he puts up the definitive 'landing on water' i may pony up.

just kidding.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm G:

I keep seeing promos for a $300 box set of the Yes Union tour around 1990 -- a bunch of live shows and bonus tracks etc.
  7:22pm marky:

Thank you! I was close! Six degrees of separation. Pat Irwin joined them around that time to fill out the touring band. Thanks for cool music today and congrats for being back in the studio πŸŽ™
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm G:

A contributing factor is probably that these old acts have not been able to tour since early 2020. Time to monetize the back catalogue.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm chresti:

@G, that's what I was thinking. Touring is their bread and butter.
  7:25pm Gerry from Miami:

@G I also think that some opportunists are buying up these limited editions and reselling them on ebay and discogs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm G:

No doubt, Gerry
  7:31pm Gerry from Miami:

Quite a business, this rock and roll! Todd-a-Phonic-Todd had a very interesting phone interview with Tommy James on his show yesterday afternoon. He had a lot to say about the "thieving" Roulette Records company. Seems there is a TV drama coming soon about this era and the Mafia ties that went on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm listener 126464:

Shrimp cereal guy may have seen my entry in 2008 Worth1000 contest- www.dropbox.com...
  7:33pm PJ:

@Gerry: Your last comment reminded me of that fab video DJ (or "VJ" as the kids called them), Gerry Todd.
  7:34pm ashley morey:

My favorite Mazzy Star song!!
  7:34pm PJ:

Doug and Bob McKenzie's "mouse in a beer bottle" scam was way better than Shrimp Cereal Guy's

Hi @Ashley! It's a good one, innit?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Troymo:

Great show today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm dale:

i remember my mother got a large bone in a canned ham back in the 60s. she wrote the company and they sent her a case of canned ham and an apology - everyone was a winner.
  7:49pm Dayffid:

Hearing this is the first time it’s actually felt like this whole nightmare will actually really be over sometime. Thanks Therese
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm JohnEBGood:

I won The Who Sell Out at Seaside Heights, NJ around 1973. The lp was an original but was " clipped" as they made too many to sell. They are now marketing this recording for hundreds of dollars.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm dale:

cut out bin?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm PaulRobeson1920:

Nice show!! Thank you, Therese!!

Rock and roll, babyy
  7:57pm Gerry from Miami:

Thanks, Therese, for a great show! Loved the Mazzy Star. Have you heard Miley Cyrus's version of "Fade into You?"
