When I was a kid, I went to the open house to celebrate the brand spanking new Nassau Coliseum. I met Hal David that day among other interesting celebrities. (Back in the Ralph G. Caso era, Nassau County had some great connections to jazz and pop, with free concerts by Ellington, Gillespie, Hampton, and Goodman.)
