	6:55pm StringOFperils: Marfa, although small, with a population of only 1800, sits on rich deposits of recorded music and culture, and is internationally known for its deep music mines, several of which are still in operation today. Annual tuneage is estimated to be no small part of the national gross domestic product, as chunks of Marfa's motherlode are sought the world over.
