Then I am skating off into the mist, doing those fancy triple twirls...whatever the real skaters call those. Broadcast and the Focus Group made me think of all the sensory language lessons I'm doing with my 7th grade poets right now...
Avatar 5:32pm
Ted from the Radio:

Neat! What kinds of lessons?

Marie:

Really beautiful stuff, Ted. Totally hitting the spot for me. Thanks! Hi everybody.

K8:

Oh, you know, just trying to get them to really delve into vivid descriptions of how they're experiencing the world through their five senses. Lots of clarification of what adjectives are. And they have to write poems about their relationship to the United States, so...they have stuff to say. I'm inspired by them.
Avatar 5:36pm
K8:

At any rate, there's a lot of talk of what I saw, what I heard, etc.
Avatar 5:39pm
Ted from the Radio:

Really cool! You might dig the stuff off this -- similar ideas -- www.trunkrecords.com...

So cool, Ted! Thank you! I know of Carl Orff, but could still know much, much more. I try to play my poets music during our writing exercises, so I'll roll this out for them this week, maybe...so cool! Thank you!

@K8: it's funny that you said you make 7th grade poems, just this morning on moonlight sonata, I specifically composed what I admitted to as a 6th grade level poem. What a coincidence. And just for the last pass 30 minutes I've been trying to do another one about a grey day. If I can I'll try to get it posted before the show is over.

Avatar 5:48pm
K8:

@Kpx...This is some good poetry writing music, I feel...or just good for writing in general, whatever genre. My 7th grade poets are amazing, although it's weird these days to have so many remote students...I read their poems but never see their faces or hear their spoken, out loud voices.
  5:51pm
Kpx:

Forget it, I'll never make it. I've forgotten what I had in mind, and the pressure of being under a time restriction I can't remember. Perhaps during another show.
