From the 'pedia: "French Polynesia appeared in the world music scene in 1992, recorded by French musicologist Pascal Nabet-Meyer with the release of The Tahitian Choir's recordings of unaccompanied vocal Christian music called himene tārava. This form of singing is common in French Polynesia and the Cook Islands, and is notable for a unique drop in pitch at the end of the phrases, a characteristic formed by several different voices, accompanied by a steady grunting of staccato, nonlexical syllables."

Carmichael, thought Snakebite was Guinness & Lager.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 12:39pm
David (in London):

Carmichael, if you ask for a snakebite in England, you'll get equal parts lager and cider, possibly with a dash of blackcurrant cordial.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm

Funny you mention that Michael, I just looked that up yesterday since I'd never heard of it before.

@Brian in UK, we never see "rapeseed oil" on ingredients lists in North America anymore as producers here have switched to "Canola", meaning Canadian (“can”) oil (“o”) low (“l”) acid (“a”), a type of rapeseed, which not-so-coincidentally also removes the word "rape" from the oil's name:

Also, she did an oral history volunteer project in Minneapolis in her college years with a Cambodian refugee family who had escaped -- fording rivers, dodging patrols, the whole deal -- with three children and four musical instruments.
