Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm Bobby K:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm Therese:

I like going to the see the olds rock. They tend to start on time and finish up at a reasonable hour!

Hi Therese, everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm Pauly from Clifton:

Bobby K, I was lucky to see AoL at the 930 Club in DC maybe, jeez, 10 years or so ago? Great LOUD show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm adamdoesit:

Hi Therese (and asides). I'll be listening in while making pizza this evening. I feel that everything I'm hearing will aid in gluten development.
  6:12pm Carmichael:

Heya Therese and folks.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm Bobby K:

@Pauly, I also saw them way back at the Troc in Philly, so it was fun to see them again!
  6:20pm Jett:

@Therese Enjoying your show! Hope you've had a more active week, I know I have. Stay well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm listener 126464:

  6:26pm Alex:

I agree about Archers of Loaf.
Avatar 6:27pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

There's a Newburys up here in Lebanon, NewHampshuh near Dartmouth of all places.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm Pauly from Clifton:

@Bobby K, very cool! I went to school in New Brunswick, NJ, and the Troc was always a great place to see a show. Plus, Philly's Chinatown was great. Highly underrated;
  6:27pm bore:

The used record stores in Harvard square were great 30ish years ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm Matt Fiveash:

This show is a wicked good time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm efd:

Outrageous that this Romeo Void album was in the basement!
  6:32pm Carmichael:

That album deserves the attic at least.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Therese:

@efd I KNOW!!!! It will be taking its rightful place in the main library
  6:33pm pgalub:

Album in the basement (it's a temporary thing).
  6:33pm Will:

Therese, I saw the band X do a live show at that very Newbury Comics in the mid-80s. The shop is still there but a far cry from what it was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm efd:

@Therese thank you for your service.
  6:34pm bore:

I love your show because it reminds me of being a teenager
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm Matt Fiveash:

This Romeo Void song was a bigger hit than the now-better-known Never Say Never, at least on WBCN. I haven't heard it since it was current but it's still imprinted on my brain! Kinda surprised how many lyrics I still remember...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm Therese:

@Fiveash- the song got in there before your brain was clogged up with everything else!
  6:41pm Sparky:

Saw one of them "Bands Reunited" on the ol' MTV about Romeo Void... The sax player got some kinda hearing problem to the extent he couldn't play sax anymore and ended up a cubicle jockey somewhere in the SF bay area. Sad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm McGroovey:

I just happened to have my bass in my hands when the Romeo Void song started, and now I know Girl in Trouble. That and 50¢...
Avatar 6:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

This MonkeyBirds got me thinking of PereUbu...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44pm Matt Fiveash:

@Therese- absolutely! True of just about everything I heard more than twice on the radio in the mid-'80s. Now I can't even remember my own zip code...

I think Petula ‘knock it out the park’ Clark did grand.

It worked - which is definitely to her credit.

At first they tell you antibiotics are okay and then they don't then they tell you that a vaccine is okay...etc...:)
Avatar 7:15pm Bergey:

Xiu Xiu! been meaning to listen to this new album
Avatar 7:16pm StringOFperils:

An antibiotic and an antiviral are two distinctly different things. But I can understand the confusion.
  7:17pm Matt in NJ:

Anybody else ever see Alex Bag’s video of going through the stages of art school?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hello, Therese and company!
  7:19pm Charles:

Why doesn't anybody ever talk about people who contracted the virus and got over it and how effective their antibodies are??....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm chresti:

Love the Girlface Occupation.
Avatar 7:26pm StringOFperils:

How effective are your antibodies? They DO talk about it. A lot. You have to dig those stories out of all the other ones. That information shifts around, depending on what mutant strain of the virus under the umbrella name C-19 you're looking at. The Brazilian version, which seems worse, has now established itself in British Columbia, and pathologists think that it might (or it has? ) re-infected people who have already recovered...so it's an ongoing disease opera.
  7:28pm Charles:

Well...SOP... do you think the vaccine protects you any better or gives you longer immunity against the different strains???...
Avatar 7:32pm StringOFperils:

I think, as with influenza shots, the CDC and other global health experts decide on like the top 5 virus contenders, and that's whet the basic flu shot is all about annually. It's also an opportunistic virus, so it's actually a whole bunch of different diseases, spread over time. SO, I think it'll be one of those once-a-year things you have to set up with your doctor. The WHO etc will get this under control, but it's not going away.
Avatar 7:33pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Whole point of a vaccine is to stimulate your antibodies.
You know what I wish wasn't viral ?
All these counterfactual contrarian trolls who've had their head up the backside of Fox News too long. When half a million plus are dead in the USA - we've isolated & shut down the economy for more than a year - & the only way out (since people won't simply mask & distance) are the vaccines - some of which are up to 95% effective. Then they babble about variants & needing a booster as a reason to not vaxx - when the best way to prevent variants would've been all these nearer including vexing in the first place. You want to be a cool rogue - we get it. Congratulations.
Well - I don't now about anybody else but I'm losing my tolerance for these asshats.
Avatar 7:34pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

*measures including *vaxxing
Look if you're scared of needles just say so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm Handy Haversack:

Word, Rev Rab. And thank you for your continued willingness to take one for the team and tell them where to stick it.
  7:37pm Charles:

I've always been afraid of placebo bullshit to help the economy grow!!!...:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm listener 126464:

Avatar 7:39pm TDK60:

Avatar 7:40pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Well - I beg your pardon for taking bait
- or overreacting if the issue is how long before boosters are needed.
Charles - the previous Admin delayed the vaccines & pretended their was no need for them for the sake of Business As Usual.
Believe me - the great eagerness to go 'Back To Normal' - when that was a rotten mess - disgusts & depresses me more than I can say.
Avatar 7:41pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- but 'placebo bullish*t' is counterfactual.
  7:42pm Charles:

Don't forget these vaccines were approved for emergency use by the FDA...simple!!!...:)
Avatar 7:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

You need to learn which are more Reality Based sources of information. Good Luck.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm listener 126464:

White Manna always gets me a little hungry.
Avatar 7:53pm Bergey:

and it was made 2 years before I was even born. Horrifies me to think about how the same situations and conversations have been playing out for (at least) the last 26 years. Her expressions of wanting to break out of these grooves and defy definition all the while falling into the same trap rang so true to me.
Avatar 7:54pm Bergey:

  7:56pm Matt in NJ:
