  6:11pm Gerry from Miami:

@Revolution Rabbit. Well, as long as Chrissie is still with us, the spirit of the band survives.
Avatar 6:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yeah Chrissie Strong.

HEY NOW
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm the Hurston moor-elf:

I had no idea Steinman produced this. Makes sense. I didn't know this version though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm Scott67:

Avatar 6:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

! - never woulda made connection this - a fave - to Meatloaf!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Handy Haversack:

Hey, Therese and all the friends!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm Handy Haversack:

Hey now now!
Avatar 6:25pm radiofreebronx:

Been digging the Lambchop version of this as of late
  6:26pm Vincent Nifigance:

An offering from Jim Steinman’s Batman Musical. https://youtu.be/dEqtvnv-_Ok
  6:26pm Gerry from Miami:

Steinman's passing is tragic. Not EVERYTHING he produced was completely over the top. He added the bombast when it fit. Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell" thrived on its excess. This tune from Sisters of Mercy blends nicely with many contemporary releases from other bands of that era.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm the Hurston moor-elf:

I think i'm going to have to log off for 10 minutes and listen to the 12" of this. Gotta hear that ultra-infectious bassline again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm Handy Haversack:

Sisters of Mercy kicks general ass. And General Ass!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm listener 126464:

Sunday night $1.00 drinks
Avatar 6:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Wouldn't mind hearing their trax again in fact !
  6:32pm dusty yeti bob:

New Cabaret Voltaire? And I missed it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm the Hurston moor-elf:

Damn, I was confused with "Lucretia My Reflection". That's the one with the killer bassline.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm Handy Haversack:

Message with one "g" for Michele with one "l"!

"Lucretia My Reflection" is also fandamntastic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm Tome:

great show Therese glad you're a here spinnin' and also that you got out and about this weekend too !<>!
  6:38pm roaming yeti bob:

Well, the it looks like the original Cabaret Voltaire (in Zurich) reopened, so why not reunite the band...
  6:38pm Jett:

So happy to be listening to you today, @Therese You make Sunday evenings superb! Stay safe and well. So far I'm doing okay. Apparently you are fine also.
  6:38pm Kpx:

iz you in new Mexico dusty YB ?
  6:40pm returning yeti bob:

kpx, i'm *back* in New Mexico. Hot the Wedt Coast and bounced off it..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm Handy Haversack:

This is a family show, YB. Hot the Wet Coast during Creamo Coyl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Make sure to take that left turn in Albuquerque, YB!
  6:42pm typo yeti bob:

"Hit" the coast, I mean.
  6:45pm desert yeti bob:

It was not the best time to go to CA. Covid is still bad there and the coastal climate did not agree with me at all (cold and damp). So now I'm back in the desert, which I prefer.
  6:46pm Kpx:

What ken fhp said, are you going to make a left at Albuquerque, or are you going to stay on 40/66?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm Handy Haversack:

Desert sounds nice, YB. I haven't even seen one since ... 1992?
  6:48pm cartoon yeti bob:

it's funny, on the Westbound trip I turned left at Alb to go to Phoenix. And onthe Eastbound trip, I'm ALSO turning left to head to Santa Fe! Bugs would be proud.
  6:49pm Kpx:

I've never seen the desert.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm chresti:

desert yeti, you shoulda come to see us in San Gabriel, where it's warmer.
  6:50pm driving yeti bob:

Also, Allbuquerque seems like a nice town. I could live there. About to fire up the V8 and burn up some miles, will be listening but not commenting. See ya later radio friends!
  6:51pm Carmichael:

I lived in Tucson in 1980. Beautiful desert scape, especially at night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Listener ZeeBee checks into Wake 'n' Bake occasionally from somewhere in New Mexico. Not sure what town.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm chresti:

My favorite town in AZ was Flagstaff.
  6:53pm Kpx:

Safe driving multiple Yeti Bob.
  6:54pm solitary yeti bob:

chresti - also just a whole lot of people and cars and i felt like i didn't want to be part of the problem so I got out of there. OK really signing off now!
  6:54pm Gerry from Miami:

"Breaking Bad" was set in Albuquerque. Be careful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm chresti:

Happy travels YB!
  6:57pm Kpx:

YB - two congested on the West Coast, too many people in Flagstaff / other big towns. No doubt about it you like your wide open spaces. Which kind of confuses me because you live in Chicago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm chresti:

Flagstaff didn't seem that big in the 90s, when I was there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm Handy Haversack:

I went through Flagstaff in the nineties, too, chresti, and really liked the look of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm chresti:

Hi Handy, it had good coffee.
7:04pm stopped for gas yeti bob:

Flagstaff is 7000 feet, was windy as hell and cold!
  7:04pm Kpx:

@Chresti - I guess there was a boom that happened there since the 90s, don't forget people been exiting Jersey and NYC / surrounding areas to beat the band. They all had to go somewhere.
  7:05pm Gerry from Miami:

Therese, you can play Chris Isaak all night long, if you want. That guy can really sing and connect emotionally. He used to have his own TV show a while back. I forget the network.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm chresti:

I like it cold, I was there about this time of year.
Kpx, you're probably right. More people everywhere.
  7:09pm Gerry from Miami:

If you're looking for a cool, hip place to go in Arizona, you wouldn't be doing bad if you chose Prescott. They even have a thriving(albeit small) punk music scene there. Check it out before the trendiness ruins it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm steveo:

Wonderful tunes, hi
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm steveo:

My sister lived in a Flagstaff 25 years ago. I never made it out there though unfortunately.

  7:21pm Gerry from Miami:

@Kpx. Not sure what you mean. There are plenty of more costly places to live in the US. I don't know anything about your professional/economic status, so it's hard to hazard a guess.
  7:22pm Kpx:

RRN63 - yeah, and I bet the Easter Bunny is the leader of your revolution takeover.

  7:30pm Gerry from Miami:

A little Russian rock here. Sounds pretty solid. I can pick up a bit of the lyrical content. "Black" and "with my eyes" came up during the song.
  7:32pm Gerry from Miami:

Kpx, might I suggest you stay put, unless you have connections or people out there that can assist you.
  7:32pm Kpx:

One of nature's most gentle and docile creatures will soon reveal their true nature, and it won't be pretty. I guess that's why they all breed like the doity wabbits they are.

  7:37pm mojo61:

I grew up at The Shore in the 60's-70's and believe I never saw a (live) skunk in the wild. However, many of us knew they were out were out there from the unmistakable road kill stench. But I actually encountered skunks for the first here In Chicago where we are LOUSY with skunks! I don't dislike them and they are not interested in humans (damn snobby skunks) but they live on the Lakefront trail which i walk almost every summer night It's dark so I'm always on the lookout because i sure don't want to startle one! usually it's dogs that get skunked. ONCE! And don't get started on Chicago bunnies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm listener 126464:

deep dish bunnies!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm Therese:

Dogs are forever ending up on the business end of skunks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm coelacanth∅:

i'm not in the least a Michael Jackson fan; but i think plagiarized is not at all accurate.
" heavily influenced by", i'd say
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm chaos_in_la_la:

mojo risen indeed. here in LA its been all skunks, opossums, dogs, and Jacksons..
  7:39pm Gerry from Miami:

Therese, you are full of surprises tonight. A mainstream rock super hit from the early 70s! Marvelous! Nothing wrong with the Dan. Desert Island stuff for me(along with my Captain Beefheart, Elvis Costello and Joni Mitchell). Really dig the electric sitar and organ solos in this one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The dust bunnies far exceed the yard bunnies in my locale.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm coelacanth∅:

i've got a large marmot of some kind living here. in the garage, under the deck... actually i think 2.
  7:41pm Ernie t Bass:

Here in cali, we have skunks of all stripes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm chaos_in_la_la:

groundhogs are real
  7:43pm Kpx:

To late General REVOLUTION RABBIT, you've already revealed your plans with "our time is now".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm coelacanth∅:

i've surprised skunks and been facing them within 3-4 feet and never been sprayed. "my" (not really mine) sweetheart of a dog, who never would've hurt the thing, was sprayed in the face. in the eyes, in the mouth... if i didn't know that the symptoms take a while to manifest i'd have thought he had rabies, the way he foamed at the mouth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm coelacanth∅:

chaos real and really under my deck!
  7:47pm mojo61:

We also have coyotes on at The Lakefront and when the emergency sirens blare ....very often :(...It triggers them howl like....welll...Howlin' Wolf. And people are seeing more and more bobcats.
  7:48pm Gerry from Miami:

First heard this Desp Sea Diver/Sharon Van Etten ditty in one if your "rival" NYC stafions. It is really good stuff. Isn't Ms. Van Etten a Jersey girl? Nutley, maybe?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm coelacanth∅:

mojo i wish i had a recording of that
  7:50pm Kpx:

As a teenager I had this crazy friend that actually went after and caught a skunk with his bare hands, he avoided getting sprayed somehow, then he took and domesticated it for a pet .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm Troymo:

Thanks for the great show!
  7:54pm Gerry from Miami:

The THeads took this Al Green classic to a diffsrent place by slowing it down. Actually more soulful done in this manner, I think.
