All I'm saying is, that WFMU is the closest thing to college radio in the 80s when I could just set the dial for hours, with no need to change it and get hipped to great music I never knew before. Feels good.

I may not be able to actively lend my ears to all three hours, considering that I have to start my first #wfh shift at 5:15 AM (PDT), I'll give it my best shot. And oh, look - a bit of Sprechgesang, auf Deutsch - my other ancestral mother tongue.

Mr. Pumpy:

rich, thank you so much for the information. I'd be remiss in not mentioning that for the last thirty-some-odd minutes I went through an acute, albeit somewhat brief psychedelic experience. I'd like to apologize for any apparent incoherence and/or aggression. From this end it was beautiful, but I just want to address any conception from out there. Life is beautiful, this show is amazing as always, and to come down to earth amongst a report of a myriad of wonderful events happening over the next week...well that only solidifies my judgment. Richard Thompson with Todd...and Groundhog Day at the local, the stuff only reality can offer. thank you rich!

  2:56am
rich:

and another show grinds to a sudden halt just as i was getting started. two more weeks of live from the inflatable squirrel carcassa and then back to studio a, a place i have missed dearly, though it was exciting to find out that i can do radio from home in case it ever becomes necessary to do so because this is something that keeps me alive. i know it’s difficult for people to understand but this is where i get to design the puzzle and solve it at the same time, there’s something both fulfilling and life-affirming about that equation because, let’s face it, you can try and design the puzzle that is life but solving it ain’t happening for most of us and i’m fine with that as long as i get to have these moments once a week where my brain tries to link pieces into some sort of flow it makes me happy and peppy and bursting with love. anyway have a safe, healthy, and happy week, enjoy life and respect it, and stay tuned for joe.
