agreed Domenico. @Robbie - at the time they were in the teen magazines like every other band. Their national tours were as opening acts for the beach Boys and/or the Monkees. Interest intensified on them after the fact with the success of CSNY, Poco etc

Yeah, like the image of those bands who broke in the counterculture era, really were trying to break at the time... I don't know if that makes sense but they wanted to be heard. And since the '90s the Alt Rock bands didn't consider it as much of a sin, since their presence in ads made their concert draw a lot more and they toured better places. That happened for a friend's band, Apples In Stereo
