Kate and I both also found that she was not very good at examining her own privilege (wealthy, white, almost instant megastar) in terms of the stories she was telling. But it definitely had insight into what it was like in the very male-dominated image-producing culture industry.

Patty is the drummer for Hole. I really can't handle Hole's music but something seemed compelling about Patty's book when I leafed through it. I'm glad I dove in. Patty's story with addiction is really compelling; plus she has excellent taste in music.

	2:30pm Fox: A few years ago, GH tried to fold all the other cancelled ABC soaps into GH, cuz they are all technically in the same universe. They got a bunch of the One Life to Live cast signed on to GH. But there were issues because some of the actors from OLtL were on GH, or the spinoff Port Charles, which had vampires. This made for some AMAZING writing. Someone sued over the use of OLtL characters, so less than a year in, a bunch of characters were suddenly written off the show, but the actors were signed on contract for years, so they were all written back in as different characters, one of which was named Franco, after James Franco, who thought it'd be fun to be on GH a few years ago. The literally recast James Franco. The lengths the writers have to go to justify a universe of two dozen people, with like 8 sets to work from, is jaw dropping. I love how crazy it gets.

But it definitely had insight into what it was like in the very male-dominated image-producing culture industry.

Patty is the drummer for Hole. I really can't handle Hole's music but something seemed compelling about Patty's book when I leafed through it. I'm glad I dove in. Patty's story with addiction is really compelling; plus she has excellent taste in music.

	2:30pm Fox: A few years ago, GH tried to fold all the other cancelled ABC soaps into GH, cuz they are all technically in the same universe. They got a bunch of the One Life to Live cast signed on to GH. But there were issues because some of the actors from OLtL were on GH, or the spinoff Port Charles, which had vampires. This made for some AMAZING writing. Someone sued over the use of OLtL characters, so less than a year in, a bunch of characters were suddenly written off the show, but the actors were signed on contract for years, so they were all written back in as different characters, one of which was named Franco, after James Franco, who thought it'd be fun to be on GH a few years ago. The literally recast James Franco. The lengths the writers have to go to justify a universe of two dozen people, with like 8 sets to work from, is jaw dropping. I love how crazy it gets.
