When you wear glasses, like I do, you have to put yer glasses on the outside of the sun glasses. walking around the city with two pairs of glasses on and a mask is funne. No discernible facial expression and all you can see is hair everywhere

@PaulRobeson1920: The flip-up ones are cheap and worthless. When I get new glasses each year with prescription changes, I order the clips that are made for the frames. There are companies that will custom-fabricate clips based on your frame shape and size. I did that years ago. I have very poor vision without my glasses and have light sensitivity also.

Robm, thanks for asking. They are starting more chemo and will do some blood scrubbing treatment which will happen over several weeks. So really one day at a time. Difficult stuff. We’re in Union county, NJ- he is in the city. His wife has to be driven in and out everyday so THAT is difficult. I picked her up yesterday and it was an effortless drive traffic wise. Let’s hope for the best. Thanks.

Jeffrey Ross Hyman was born on May 19, 1951, in Queens, New York City, New York to a Jewish family. His parents were Charlotte and Noel Hyman. He was born with a parasitic twin growing out of his back, which was incompletely formed and surgically removed. The family resided in Forest Hills, Queens, where Hyman and his future Ramones bandmates attended Forest Hills High School. He grew up with his brother Mickey Leigh. Though happy, Hyman was something of an outcast, diagnosed at 18 with obsessive–compulsive disorder alongside being diagnosed with schizophrenia. His mother, Charlotte Lesher, divorced her first husband, Noel Hyman. She married a second time but was widowed by a car accident while she was on vacation. Hyman was a fan of the Beatles, the Who, David Bowie, and the Stooges among other bands, particularly oldies and the Phil Spector-produced "girl groups". His idol was Pete Townshend of the Who, with whom he shared a birthday. Hyman took up the drums at 13, and played them throughout his teen years before picking up an acoustic guitar at age 17.
In 1972 Hyman joined the glam punk band Sniper. Sniper played at the Mercer Arts Center, Max's Kansas City and the Coventry, alongside the New York Dolls, Suicide, and Queen Elizabeth III. Hyman played with Sniper under the name Jeff Starship. Hyman continued playing with Sniper until early 1974, when he was replaced by Alan Turner.
In 1974, Jeffrey Hyman co-founded the punk rock band the Ramones with friends John Cummings and Douglas Colvin. Colvin was already using the pseudonym "Dee Dee Ramone" and the others also adopted stage names using "Ramone" as their surname: Cummings became Johnny Ramone and Hyman became Joey Ramone. The name "Ramone" stems from Paul McCartney: he briefly used the stage name "Paul Ramon" during 1960/1961, when the Beatles, still an unknown five-piece band called the Silver Beetles, did a tour of Scotland and all took up pseudonyms; and again on the 1969 Steve Miller album Brave New World, where he played the drums on one song using that name.

@hyperdose palms are a good bet! ponytail palms, majesty palms. also snake plants are technically toxic to pets, but because of the texture/rigidity of their leaves, i've found that my cats don't want to eat them. many of the plants i have are technically toxic, but feathery leaves (like palms) are really the most appealing for them to chew on, and they leave the rest alone. my cat gin used to eat my pothos as well, but she would just barf it up and move on. the number one plant to avoid at all costs is anything in the lily family- those can cause kidney failure and death extremely quickly, and all they have to do is brush up against the flower pollen for it to happen

The Pollen Nation gave me a small sore spot on my right tonsil, but since I’ve barely used any sick days and I want to gargle with hot salt water/honey mix every couple of hours I decided I might as well stay home.

Many of my ragtag bunch of students also needed a make up day/catch-up day for a bunch of missing assignments that trail back to the third quarter so everyone will be served well by my absence.
