a friend gave me a book a few years ago "smithsonian book of comic book comics" - i guess because i'd told him i never read comic books.
so this one fascinating book represents almost all the comic book comcs i've ever read.
(i did join my siblings in sunday funnies ritual...which i rarely found funny)

superduperman is in the book

I maintain that "Is That You, Melissa?" would have been a pop-metal hit if it had come out three years earlier, before the grunge thing happened. Brilliant song.

This seems a much darker Void of Silence than I am used submerging into, yet Ive only heard The Sky Over album. It has become a ritual to hear the long songs before sleep.
Avatar 5:11am
Bill Zebub:

This is a more demonic VOID OF SILENCE
Avatar 5:21am

This track from Paradise Lost is a lovely bit of business. Reminds me of the soundtrack to F-Zero-X. I'm speeding along – woo!
Avatar 5:23am
MissEevie:

Thanks! always into Paradise Lost!
  5:23am
Edwin Oslan:

I need to listen to more Paradise Lost. I still haven't given that first CD its proper listen.
Avatar 5:23am
Bill Zebub:

Rich, the band is from your nation
Avatar 5:24am
BigP0ppa:

I've only ever heard Icon when I liked metal more as a teenager. Shameful, as they come from Halifax just down the road from me
Avatar 5:26am
Bill Zebub:

It is never too late to return to lost music
Avatar 5:29am
BigP0ppa:

Well that track Silent sounded pretty fresh to me but thats from earlier than Icon! I really do need get back into it
Avatar 5:31am
Bill Zebub:

This is why I do not understand people who only want radio to be new. I play songs from two decades ago that sound new. All music is new to the ear that has never heard.
Avatar 5:33am
BigP0ppa:

Yeah, absolutely agree. The best music is timeless. I think that's something that most of us learn as we get older in fairness once we get into music from a non consumer perspective
  5:33am
Edwin Oslan:

Agreed, never too late. I think it's interesting especially seeking out the non-classic material of legacy bands. Like a Sodom album from the 90s or something.
Avatar 5:35am
Bill Zebub:

The next song is for you, Edwin
  5:46am
Edwin Oslan:

The Bowie one?
Avatar 5:49am
Clay Pigeon:

This Bowie is cool!
Avatar 5:49am
BigP0ppa:

Yeah, what's it from? I should just google
Avatar 5:50am
Bill Zebub:

There is much to love in the Bowie world
Avatar 5:50am
BigP0ppa:

The Man Who Sold The World. Possibly my favourite Bowie album that I've never heard
Avatar 5:52am
BigP0ppa:

Oooh. The Metrobolist. Thanks Bill, I know what record I'm going to hunt down and buy at the weekend
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53am

morning. thought professor dum dum had returned. i haven't been paying attention to the schedule of late.
Avatar 5:54am
Bill Zebub:

BigPOppa, another example of something extremely old that is new to the ear that has never heard. Even something as presumably common as David Bowie.
Avatar 5:56am
BigP0ppa:

its strange, that album just isnt in my radar. And my pals and i love lot of Bowie. Station to Station doesn't get a lot of love but that and Low are in my top 3. Great stuff, wfmu IS educational
  5:58am
Edwin Oslan:

I didn't know Therion was a French band.
  1:13am
Jacob c kennimer:

Thanks sir another dark night.
