Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57am
kuba:

i don't think so, at least not yet. they did do a weird ~experience thing~ a couple months back, real blockbuster...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58am
kuba:

as far as i know, as a now-recluse, all Berlin clubs are pretty much in ruins now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04am
Joe D.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05am
Joe D.:

kuba as a local would you say it's worth it to go to Berghain or is just like the BDSM Times Square for tourists
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05am
Joe D.:

wait maybe the CD is skipping

Listener Michael:

Thanks for the No Wave sample question!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12am
Joe D.:

oh, don't thank me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14am
kuba:

I think it's... kinda both.
They also had regular concerts, I don't remember how the sub-venues (panoramabar, kantine) really differ. I remember seeing Caribou -- sound was exceptional, show meh.
I think I got in to a "regular club night" once, thanks to my now ex-gf. IIRC they do a good job keeping out the "tourists", fwiw, which is where the notoriety comes from. Oh and of course the general gay/bdsmness, which you don't notice as much, unless you go to a specific event.
The exclusiveness always struck me as idk, undemocratic?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17am
kuba:

...and the "absolutely no photos" stance, but I don't remember how strictly it was encforced...
Summing up my ramblings: it's worth going once if you can risk standing in line for 6h and then not get in. In the end, it's a... club.

jimbrux:

Goddamn just missed the last 45 mins cos of a phone call. Will listen back in the archive. I just wanna say how much I love this show. I came for the hip-hop and now I stay for the rest of the nonsense.
