Daybreak! Hey, pal! It was the East River. It was pretty sweet. The closest ferry pier is disabled because East River ferry service is a massive scan, so we didn't have to dodge any boats. Got in some hard paddling west, some lazing around and watching the goslings paddle in Bushwick Inlet, and enjoyed a tailwind and the flood current coming home. We were landed, gear stored, and a beer in us before the rain came through. Pret-ty good!

Handy,
Figured it was a scam ;)

Been in that situation with the rain and storm approaching MANY times on the Delaware River. Always happy it is one way.

Many times of trying I have mastered the art of slipping out of the packed canoe into the clear Delaware for swimming and sliding back in with our a flip or tip.
6 foot plus and gangley limbs help a lot!

I have lost track of the number of Dylan shows I've been to. Most were in the 90s - early 2000s. First one, in 95 w Patti Smith, I was 5 feet from him and he looked at me.

I bet Band of the Hand was better than Hearts of Fire tho (sorry I'll stop now)
