Avatar 7:27pm

WLSClark:

Hi Eric, seems like a lifetime since I was back in WFMU friends. Been outta town and doing other stuff but good to be back
Avatar 7:31pm
MOM WHIG:

Great version of this song too - wasn't it the Shangra Las
Avatar 7:32pm
WLSClark:

Mom, indeed. They are doing great job with it.
Avatar 7:32pm
Eric R:

yes, and I love Skeeter but the ShangriLas version really is the better one
Avatar 7:32pm
MOM WHIG:

This one is Chad & Jeremy right?
Avatar 7:33pm
WLSClark:

Mom, you're teasing now. I KNOW you are sitting there with your 45s and sifting thru them. haha
Avatar 7:33pm
Eric R:

written by Chad
Avatar 7:34pm
MOM WHIG:

WLS - no from memory - but my 45's are all over the living room being sorts for weeks now - alphabetically
Avatar 7:34pm
Eric R:

Sunglasses is my favorite of hers
Avatar 7:35pm
MOM WHIG:

I don't know this one at all.
Avatar 7:38pm
Eric R:

I think that sunglasses has such good lyrics, so clever, written by John D Loudermilk who wrote Tobacco Road and This Little Bird (the one that Marianne Faithfull did)
Avatar 7:39pm
Eric R:

well! That was fun!
Avatar 7:40pm
MOM WHIG:

Thanks Eric - great info - still love Tobacco Road, Marianne too
Avatar 7:42pm
Eric R:

it's so funny what we know. unfortunately I can't win trivia contests now, even though I can reel off song titles, writers, etc. from the 60s but now most of the contests have questions about the 80s and 90s. I have no clue about 90s songs or TV shows.
Avatar 7:43pm
WLSClark:

Mom, I spent 6-8 months last year sorting my 45s and now that I am selling extras etc off, it is a big mess starting again. haha
Avatar 7:44pm
Eric R:

I see this is Tuesday's Children but it sounds like Peter and Gordon
Avatar 7:44pm
WLSClark:

Eric, indeed. They had a new version of Name that Tune a year ago or so and I did not know any of them. Of course, when the show was new in th 50's or 60's, I didn't know any either because they were old ones then.
Avatar 7:45pm
Eric R:

WLS, do you remember the really old Name that Tune, where the contestants would have to race down to a bell that they'd ring?
Avatar 7:48pm
WLSClark:

Eric, if it was mid 60's all I remember was not understanding WHY they were playing songs no one knew??? Of course, older people DID know them, but I had no clue there was even old music really. I never watched but because it was on around the time of "Kids Say the Darndest Things," I caught the end or beginnig I think. BTW, the ladder TV show I mentioned is on again and not NEARLY as good as Art Linkletter did it.
Avatar 7:48pm
MOM WHIG:

I remember the old Name that Tunes - can you name that tunes in 3 seconds-if by original Singer - I was great
Avatar 7:49pm
MOM WHIG:

I always watched Art too - the new one is not good - Tiffany Haddish
Avatar 7:50pm
WLSClark:

Mom, do you watch meTV? Never thought there was anything new to create in TV and here comes MeTV--an idea any of us COULD have come up with, but no one would have bought in, so we thought. FREE TV at its finest and oldest!
Avatar 7:51pm
MOM WHIG:

Love all the old shows - watched Dick Van Dyke last night - 2 episodes, Honeymooners with Jackie Gleason too
Avatar 7:52pm
Eric R:

ok, gang, gonna run to the store. See you somewhere in the next hour or so.
Avatar 7:52pm
MOM WHIG:

BYE Eric
Avatar 7:52pm
MOM WHIG:

WLS - That Girl is on too
Avatar 7:52pm
WLSClark:

Picking up BPN snacks for US???
Avatar 7:53pm
MOM WHIG:

I already ate my apple pie with vanilla ice cream
Avatar 7:54pm
WLSClark:

Mom, That Girl was awesome, for more than just being pretty. It is awesome that today she still is promoting her dad's great Children's hospital! I remember when Danny promoted it all the time in 60's when it was new and WLS did promotions with him for it as well.
Avatar 7:54pm
MOM WHIG:

She still looks pretty good. I watched Danny Thomas show too.
Avatar 7:54pm
WLSClark:

Summer? OVER?? It's just starting! Come to the Sunshine!
Avatar 7:55pm
MOM WHIG:

Back in a bit - my friend calls me at end of Jeopardy each nite. It's about that time here 8pm
Avatar 7:55pm
WLSClark:

Yes, marlow is still looking great. Whatever happened to Donald? Never saw that actor again.
Avatar 7:55pm
WLSClark:

Avatar 7:56pm
