I will have to whip out my…early 1960’s, open-back, folk model, old-timey, torture device. AKA banjo. That’ll shut em up. Hope they can take my unique brand of claw hammer style banjo breakdowns, lots of hootin’ and more that a touch of hollerin’.

I especially remember when CBS edited out Joan Baez introducing and dedicating a song to her then-husband David, who was in prison for refusing to be drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War.

	7:04am Morphe': Smothers Brothers The Who incident[edit] The performance by The Who in 1967 was another defining moment in the series; as the group often did during that period, The Who destroyed their instruments at the conclusion of their performance of "My Generation", with the usual addition of mild explosives for light pyrotechnic effect. The piece would end with guitarist Pete Townshend grabbing Tommy's guitar and smashing it. On the Smothers Brothers show that night a small amount of explosive was put into the small cannon that Keith Moon kept in his bass drum. But it did not go off during the rehearsal. Unbeknownst to Moon, a stage hand had added another explosive before the taping, and later Moon added another charge so that now there were three explosive charges in the cannon instead of one.[12] When Moon detonated it, the explosion was so intense that a piece of cymbal shrapnel cut into Moon's arm; Moon is heard moaning in pain toward the end of the piece. Townshend, who had been in front of Moon's drums at the time, had his hair singed by the blast; he is seen putting out sparks in his hair before finishing the sketch with a visibly shocked Tommy Smothers. The blast allegedly contributed heavily to Townshend's long-term hearing loss.[13]

	7:19am Gerry from Miami: Our neighbors got a color RCA TV when they were first available. VERY expensive as I recall, and almost as big as a refrigerator. They would invite us over to watch the very limited color programming on NBC. A live-in-the-studio George Nader as detective Ellery Queen, a filmed drama series about Lewis and Clark called "Northwest Passage." No remote controls back then and the color balance was constantly needing adjustment.

	8:33am Maryanne: Listener Robert - Many are like that, sad to say, I think their ego gets in the way of the great things they can do. I know two people who were helped tremendously by his protocol. But I saw him in person, didn't connect with his energy.
	8:33am Kpx: Feel ya butterman, happens to me from time to time and it can get you down. For what ever reason /sometimes from trying to hard, I get an unexpected reaction and it knocks you emotionally on yer ass. not a good feeling. A lot of the time that reaction comes in the form of being ignored and try as I may I can't get that person to respond. I tell myself just forget it, but easier said than done. People just seem to be overly zealous in there sensitivity and have a pension to make something out of nothing. Go figure, huh.

I especially remember when CBS edited out Joan Baez introducing and dedicating a song to her then-husband David, who was in prison for refusing to be drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War.

	7:04am Morphe': Smothers Brothers The Who incident[edit] The performance by The Who in 1967 was another defining moment in the series; as the group often did during that period, The Who destroyed their instruments at the conclusion of their performance of "My Generation", with the usual addition of mild explosives for light pyrotechnic effect. The piece would end with guitarist Pete Townshend grabbing Tommy's guitar and smashing it. On the Smothers Brothers show that night a small amount of explosive was put into the small cannon that Keith Moon kept in his bass drum. But it did not go off during the rehearsal. Unbeknownst to Moon, a stage hand had added another explosive before the taping, and later Moon added another charge so that now there were three explosive charges in the cannon instead of one.[12] When Moon detonated it, the explosion was so intense that a piece of cymbal shrapnel cut into Moon's arm; Moon is heard moaning in pain toward the end of the piece. Townshend, who had been in front of Moon's drums at the time, had his hair singed by the blast; he is seen putting out sparks in his hair before finishing the sketch with a visibly shocked Tommy Smothers. The blast allegedly contributed heavily to Townshend's long-term hearing loss.[13]

	7:19am Gerry from Miami: Our neighbors got a color RCA TV when they were first available. VERY expensive as I recall, and almost as big as a refrigerator. They would invite us over to watch the very limited color programming on NBC. A live-in-the-studio George Nader as detective Ellery Queen, a filmed drama series about Lewis and Clark called "Northwest Passage." No remote controls back then and the color balance was constantly needing adjustment.

	8:33am Kpx: Feel ya butterman, happens to me from time to time and it can get you down. For what ever reason /sometimes from trying to hard, I get an unexpected reaction and it knocks you emotionally on yer ass. not a good feeling. A lot of the time that reaction comes in the form of being ignored and try as I may I can't get that person to respond. I tell myself just forget it, but easier said than done. People just seem to be overly zealous in there sensitivity and have a pension to make something out of nothing. Go figure, huh.
