Hey, good peeps, question: Does anyone here have a NY Medical Marijuana card? Mom is looking for a doc and some of them are trying to run a scam where they are charging her $200 per scrip filled--IIRC once you have the actual card in hand, you should be able to go to any dispensary in NY, is that correct? Thanks!

And yeah, won't horrify you all with where I was this past week. Long story short, Mom got a bile duct stent and she nearly died Sunday night from bleedout. Thank goodness for Uber. Anyway we need to get her hemoglobin levels up before she can start chemo, IF she chooses chemo. Want to line up her pain relief asap. Her doc in NJ is AGAINST physical assisted death but VERY pro medical pot and other pain relief. Mom HATES most opiates though as good old Oxycontin makes her nauseous etc. She is VERY open to the idea of edibles/tinctures.

Hey getting out is great. After throwing out half of my fridge last night, I was supposed to go to the greengrocer but wound up chilling with peeps at Judy and Punch, eating their free popcorn, and after getting good and sauced I rolled over to Sweet Afton. They are back in business RE proper dinner food, and they recently lowered the price and expanded the option on their burgers and fries. Giant gloppy burger with raclette cheese, bacon, and an over easy egg, small fries with their vinegar mayo and yet another cocktail and a draft beer from Rochester. Needed it to normalize.

Miss G, I wouldn't even have known to wash off the oils -- I wasn't directly exposed. Kate did a photo shoot for the upcoming EP cover over by the creek (and kills) and must have brought it home on her clothes. Two days later, I'm covered in blisters and resigning myself to necrotizing fasciitis or scabies or the heartbreak of psoriasis, when her photographer mentioned she had got a little bit of poison ivy during the shoot, and suddenly it was all clear what had happened. I'm just ridiculously allergic.

@Handy sorry RE the burn and the freaking poison ivy! Not sure if they still make it, but there used to be this blue glop from the drugstore, in the sunscreen section, called "Blue Ice Aloe" or something like that. Looked like carbonated blue jello. Was REALLY good on even the very worst sunburns. As a kid I had white blonde hair and still have that blonde/blue complexion so I burn REALLY easily. Come to think of it, the next time I go to the beach I need to order PROPER swimwear--swim shorts with at least 9" of leg coverage (inner thighs burn to a bright red) and a swim SHIRT with good shoulder coverage (area near armpits also burns like a lard rendering plant).

@Threemoons hope you’re getting through that difficult situation the best you can.
I also wish there was a reliable way to get some medical weed, or at least a uniform guide to what’s what/what to expect. Just want some for relaxation. But of the three times I’ve tried stuff - a rub on oil for aches, a CBD cream and ingestible drops, it was to no effect at all.
Which makes me inclined to believe it’s just another racket, a hallmark of Wild Western capitalism in which the buyer is taken to the cleaners. I’d like to believe. But it just seems all too susceptible to fraudsters, hucksters and the like.
Anyone successfully understand or found a way to experience this vaunted way of reintroducing marijuana to the public?
I love the idea of it - getting it in a controllable, sedative way without getting high (can’t smoke weed anymore, and it’s far too potent now). But so far I’m disinclined to all the hype.
