Terrible news about Dusty. Be sure to catch the ZZTop documentary on netflix. When they were at peak 70s popularity, the band took a sabbatical and Dusty got a job as a bag handler at the Houston airport.

@steveo, that In The Street pirate needs to walk the plank. Fortunately not an issue on the west side of the hill in Sunset Park, 91.9 sounds fantastic here. Compare 91.1 to the stream, you might hear the difference then. 91.1 sounds a wee bit like it’s inside a cardboard box.
Avatar 🧩 Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
Handy Haversack:

Thanks, Mariano.

91.1 is muddy and quiet on the bathroom boombox in north Brooklyn. 91.9 is un-pick-up-able as usual.

@Handy: La Novia is mostly a collective, though also an ensemble (they did two pretty cool versions of In C, acoustic and electric). Toad is one of the many projects that come from there, one of the long-term bands. It's confusing, as France (the band) isn't technically part of La Novia, though it is close...

@YETI BOB: Not the France band I was talking about. Sister Iodine were still active before the COVID shit hit the fan. I don't know about now

Toad clearly a nod to Cream in this case. Drum Solo even. Personally still so atavistic that exploring such spaces between Cream & Hendrix seems an engaging pursuit when I turn on my Gittar & Amp.

Damn, I'm going to start a band called Toad. Based on the excellent sounds that both Toads I've heard today make I'm sure my Toad will not suck.

Bas and I got on that Cure bandwagon early when Clay played that song last January. Must have been the pandemic that kept the other DJs from spotting it in the new bin till now. That band might catch on!

Thanks, fred et alia for the info on That First Toad. I need more of that, and am already pleasantly confused.

For me - TheCure were always like LedZep (...let me finish...) - in that I've always appreciated them but took them for granted sot of - not to the center of my heart (like I did TheWho - or um, to compare to TheCure - I dunno - Bunnymen, Cramps - somebody... Teardrop Explodes eventually...)
But 'Inbetween Days' there is certainly fine isn't it...
