Last weekend I read "Finding The Raga", a really interesting book about Indian music. Now I'm reading "The Master and Margarita", hopefully I'll get more books next week, including Kenny G's one about UbuWeb. And there's a new Colson Whitehead coming next month...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06am
Brian D:

Funny, Fred. I just read a review of a new bio of Ravi Shankar. Master and Margarita is worth the read.

Currently reading Haruki Murakami's Kafka On The Shore, and there's a beautiful zen rock garden library that factors into the story. Here in Spring Green, Wisco there's a slightly kitschy tourist attraction called The House on the Rock. It's where the carousel dimensional portal from Neil Gaiman's American Gods is derived from. That Raga book sounds great.

Murakami is an avid vinyl listener too. Take a look at his official website for a small photo tour of his writing desk and album shelf. Dude has thousands of records.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13am
Brian D:

Murakami rules. My favorite of his is the novella After Dark. Tons of music references in there.

Spoiler alert. FBI officials believe the train derailments in the Pacific NW of the US are related to an "environmental terrorist" group that's linked with native tribes in the area: www.theguardian.com...
