in hindsight, Board was probably the necessary shit-stirrer in MRR's pages. As if there wasn't enough mud-slingery going on in the scene reports.. Then again this is straining to remember reading it 35ish years ago.

was amused to see it still exists in print..

Handy, sailing was amazing. I thought I was going to be a nervous Nellie but was totally cool. I steered all the way back from the statue to Hoboken. It’s hilarious to just point the boat at oncoming boats and move out of the way at the last second. Just kidding. We spent the day today at island beach state park just past seaside. Beautiful. Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm

My friend just sailed from Georgian Bay across and down Lake Huron, and then Lake Erie from Detroit to Buffalo. This video wasn't him. He didn't almost get run over by a freighter.

Sailboats theoretically have right of way over motorized boats, but

I took a test, similar to a DNA test, but they determined that a small percentage of the water that was in my body at the time of the test was in the Nile River in the year 68 B.C.E. . . They also said it is kinda cool but ultimately meaningless.

Barney Grubbs:

@tim: I was on a punk listserv that Mykel Board was on back in the 90s. On a visit to NYC to visit a good friend of my girlfriend, we somehow ended up going to CBGB with him and saw The Humpers (if I'm remembering right--it was a long time ago). He was much nicer than I would've guessed from reading MRR.
  5:45pm
The Butterman:

McGroovy, that sailboat turned around pretty quick though! Thanks for that. There was very little traffic on the Hudson.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:47pm
Handy Haversack:

Yeah, law of gross tonnage generally takes precedent, McGroovey -- one boat is a lot easier to turn, and sailboats generally don't have transponders to mark their position as required for safe navigation.

Ahem.

Sounds awesome, Butterman!

Thanks for all, Scott! We are going to head over and feed the neighbors' cat and sit in their yard a sec. Great show.
