Dennis Bovell & Brinsley Forde discuss the first U.S. theatrical release of Franco Rosso's 1980 British film "Babylon" starring Forde as a dancehall DJ in Thatcher-era South London pursuing his musical ambitions while battling the xenophobia of employers, neighbors, police and the National Front. Written by Martin Stellman (Quadrophenia) with cinematography by two-time Oscar winner Chris Menges (The Killing Fields/The Mission), the incendiary film is set to a reggae, dub and lovers rock score by Bovell. Special thanks to Gabriele Caroti (Seventy-Seven) and Jonathan Hertzberg (Kino Lorber) for arranging this interview! Check Kino Lorber's site for screenings near you. (Originally aired on March 19, 2019)
