Charlie was definitely an un-failable drummer... Never hats and snare on the same beat. Simplistic, swinging, and beautiful... Never wanted a solo. The flashiness is only in the perfect execution on the feel. As he rolled along, he was the stable rock that supported the Stones in their 50+ year campaign.

I think he is definitely writing a bit differently right now compared to the past. I can appreciate that, but I'm not sure I like the more obtuse/Circus Devil-ish stuff that he's been putting out lately. But to each their own.
