Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from September 24, 2021 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

I have a recent acquaintance who's very bugged that recently he's had trouble keeping a portion of his lip closed -- that he has to make an effort to do so instead of its being there in a relaxed position. He thinks it happened when he strained lifting something. But he seems to be a hypochondriac too. I tell him probably nobody notices it, but I can understand how someone could be sensitive about something to do with their face. So I'm sorry if I inadvertently seized on something you too might be sensitive about, Uncle Michael.

An enduring memory of my dear departed mother Virginia, is her standing by the Christmas tree in1967 studying the gate fold of Their Satanic Majesties Requests and musing to no one in particular "Is this record for children?" I was twelve years old and she had given me that and Forever changes by Love. She was forced to listen to those two records non-stop until we went back to school in January 1968.
